TV shows from the 1960s

My childhood has just flashed past me, Logan! What a great selection! Several, like The Prisoner, The Invaders and Callan I picked up on more in the 70s, but The Time Tunnel, The Saint, The Champions, Gerry Anderson, Star Trek, The Twilight Zone, Doctor Who, Monty Python, Batman, The Addams Family etc. are well remembered. I remember liking The Baron from that time too, and Man in a Suitcase. I thought The Avengers got a bit too ironic in the later seasons, though.

My favourite one, just crept in at the end of the 60s, though - Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) - classic stuff!

I italicised the ones not on my list. When I have more than one in an option, feel free to vote for as many as you like in it (this being multiple choice). So,, you could give the option "Batman, The Addams Family, or The Munsters" three votes (or or and).

I had thought about doing a 50s list, in which case I would have included Dragnet there for the 1951 to 1959 series. Although Sea Hunt extended into the 60s (1958 to 1961), I was thinking about adding that toa 1950s poll. Have Gun - Will Travel (1957 to 1963) I also though about including in a 50s poll (although I'm not generally much of a Western fan, of course there are many exceptions, I liked that quite a lot). I had meant to include Mission: Impossible, and if I ever do a Commodore 64 poll, I'll include Impossible Mission. You have a lot of other choices in these lists, and I really would like to see you coming up with some polls. That would be interesting to me, and I would find plenty of likes on your lists (I expect that your choices would be more popular than mine and generate more discussion). I think one big difference between us is that you are more in touch with American television.

It's always rather daunting coming up with these lists because I'm searching for some sense of shared experiences and camaraderie, and I do worry, will people like what is meaningful and profound to my experience and sense of being? It's a very personal thing to share. You can tell a lot about a person by what they like, though it doesn't tell the whole story. It says something about psychology and experience.... Perhaps me making such polls is bit too self-centred, but I do appreciate people coming up with their "other" choices, and doing their own polls, as I am interested in getting to know others tastes too, and I genuinely looking for a sense of connection with people when I do such things (guess that why most of us post in forums -- it's a community). Thanks to all who have taken the time to vote, post, and engage in discussion.

 soooo many of those - Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Lost in Space were Irwin Allen series; that started great and deteriorated over time, as budgets forced them to recycle costumes and ideas, which was weird since they both had a big audience.  Twilight Zone/Outer Limits were both great.  Night Gallery first aired Dec 16, 1969, so more of an early 70s series but pretty good.  Wild Wild West was fun.  I think the Original Star Trek was the best of all.  For comedies, love Gilligan's Island, good old slapstick and a true "situation" comedy

Night Gallery's awesome! Loved TZ and Trek, too. Who didn't?!

Tough one but I'm voting Prisoner for personal reasons.
