Hi,
Just for fun! Albums we do NOT want SW to remaster! Greg Lake - 1st solo album! You think SW can rock out to that guitar on 2 songs? Greg would likely get upset! Ash Ra Tempel - Join Inn - He would make sure the girl sounds like she is NOT in bed with you! Not enough sex in the man world of PT! Tangerine Dream's Phaedra - The whole time to rise up to an orgasm, becomes so clinical, that you think you are listening to Kraftwerk. You would think Steven knows the difference? Time to go get a Randy Racquel! And practice! I gotta grow up so I can post at PA because I like Rush and metal! Iron Butterfly - In a Gadda Da Vida - Oh yeah ... SW didn't do good enough acid to enjoy this one. It would sound so poor that most prog folks in this board would rather go to the bathroom ... and do something! Todd Rundgren - The Wizard/True Star -- Todd would break his guitar over SW's head instead of punching that other guy and tell stories about it on stage! Aren't we tired of that weewee thing yet? John and Yoko - Two Virgins -- SW's work is too "manly" ... he doesn't like women, and Yoko will not exactly get his ideas and hopes up a whole lot! The GTO's - Some of those girls would come out of your ears, and scare you with a blow .... dry! Bad Steven to distort the innocence of those girls and ruin the reputation of the time, the place, and the fun! We don't discuss the drugs. SW never tried Sunshine or Purple Haze to know better, and how much fun sex can be! Brainticket - Cottonwood Hill! You think SW has any idea how to have some fun? He would kill that girl instead! Aphrodite's Child 666 - The ghost of Irene Pappas would swallow him up so fast he would not have any idea how to enjoy the last side! Make it a bunch of solos, I guess! Well, at least she was not Anita Ekberg! But SW is probably a fan of Marilyn's, not some other actress! ... and last, but not least ... Jethro Tull - A Passion Play - He would make you dizzy with all the placements and the story gets buried in so many closets you have no idea what the rabbit thing is all about ... this, of course, would be SW's editorial song! You have any other fun takes?

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Albums should be as they were originally made, or in those cases where some idiot f**ked up the first time around, let the band remaster it. One exception - An Evening With Wild Man Fischer. I'd like to see SW try anything with that!

I don't want Steve Wilson to remaster Lipps Inc's "Funky Town". The mix is perfect. End of the discussion.

He could do a lovely 5.1 remaster that would be like you were really on the dancefloor at Studio 54 in 1980.

Mmm... Yeah. I could consider it. But does it mean that the CD would include a dose of cocaine? |

I can imagine a future where all classic prog albums available at record stores are SW remasters.

I would prefer he remaster artists and albums that fell between the cracks. Do we need another remastered version of all the popular albums? I think not. There are way too many albums never even released on CD. I wish he'd become the patron saint for album's like Clivage's Mixtus Orbis which was released once and vinyl and never again despite recent upsurges in popularity for obscurities of the past.

^THIS. Beautifully said, good sir. Unless it's an album that, despite being popular, didn't have the best quality, I don't see the point in constantly remastering old, popular albums—especially since most are remastered like every 15-20 years, not just once.
