Another CA? I'll admit I was disappointed with last years - not because it wasn't good, but because I already had pretty much all the songs from subscribing to their website, and didn't pay enough attention to realise that before I bought it. XD

The new Cavern of Anti-Matter is pretty good, Hormone Lemonade, most noticeably if you're into old school motorik Krautrock.
Others? Hmmm I just got myself a country album that I really dig. Alright it is tinged with psychedelic and alternative vibes, but still. I love surprising my brain with genres it previously hated to the max. Amen Dunes he's called! Oh I also just got the new U.S. Girls album Unlimited Poem. The only album I've got that's featured on PA is Fire's Hands. Damn fine record though. |

I don't know if the second JLIN's album : Black Origami is from 2017 or 2018, but this is one of the best thing I've heard since a long time. Fantastic electro prog with raga rhythms. Love it

I gave up on the C-A subscription, I liked the music but it just didn't feel like an album. I wasn't connecting with it as much as I do with their albums if that makes sense. I therefore only doubled up on a couple of tracks and liked the album.

Kayak-Seventeen
their best for 19 years although it's still only 3-4 stars. Pretty solid. I like Galahad's latest album as well. At the moment I've bought 5 releases for this year and am struggling to remember the other 3!

I am most definitely looking forward to some new Coheed and Cambria and some new Tool. I heard that the new Coheed album is supposed to go back to their older stuff (the good-old heavy crossover prog), which I'm super stoked for.

I have heard a few Perfect Circle songs that got me somewhat interested, and then last weekend that I visited the CD's shop, they happened to have it on, so I heard a bit more of it. Maybe it's not the proggiest thing around, but it sounded very nice, I shall be getting it. It seems to be doing well in sales too, actually (though I would have to check that out).

^Nice haul. I have the CD on the way through bandcamp. Did the poster and sticker come with the disc?

It's probably because I'm not keeping big resource lists, but this year seems a lot slower on new releases than '17.
Here's a few favs from the first trimester of '18 Piniol- Bran Coucou Rivendel - Sisyfus Anna von Hausswolff - Dead Magic Not a Good Sign - Icebound Perfect Beings - Vier Pryapisme - Epic Loon OST Tusmörke....maybe Edited by Tapfret - May 09 2018 at 00:32 |

The stickers poster and T-shirt were part of the funding campaign.

Listening to it at the moment. This is not a band I'd heard of before, but it's a pretty good album.

There's a new Worldservice Project album, Serve, coming out on Rarenoise.
Good stuff, as usual from these lads. They are generally described, including by themselves, as 'punk jazz'. But it's pretty proggy punk jazz, IMO.

This is pretty cool! I was intrigued to see cover art by Angel Ontalva. And actually the music reminds me quite a bit of October Equus - which is no bad thing in my book - albeit compositionally a little looser.
