Topic: Neal Morse era Spock's Beard studio albums Posted: March 02 2018 at 21:09 |
I noticed Spock's Beard popped up as the most searched artist on here for today so why not a poll. I think all are good. I actually don't know the later stuff much anyway. Which one do you guys like the most?

I could almost say I like them all equally, but I think The Light has the edge over the others - just.

Beware of Darkness, since it was the first Spock's Beard album I heard.

Snow - is such a great concept album, it is hard for me to vote for anything else. However, V was a very good album with some epic songs and I would have liked to have seen another non-concept one like it - but sadly Neal had other plans at the time. Classic tracks on every album, though - a very strong canon of work. They helped reinvigorate my love of prog at the time.

V because it was the first SB full length I listened to. the two great epics on this album are another reason.

V is by far the best thing they ever did...then and now.

"
The Light" followed by "5". Every album with Morse has some great tracks, but these two are imo most consistent , with "5" being the
best in this aspect. The Light however has the most outstanding pieces
in their catalogue - title track and Go the Way You Go.

Up until a few months ago I would have said V. But with the release of Snow Live MorseFest 2016 I have come to appreciate Snow as the masterpiece it is.

I love ‘V’. But I don’t get why everyone drools over this album V, Snow and Brief Nocturnes are my least listened to. Oh, I don’t have the Nick DV-led albums. The Oblivion Particle is equal first with The Light.

The Light over V

Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

V > The Light > Beware of Darkness > and then the rest with Snow at the end.
V is a masterpiece, as is The Light. The only one I've never been able to get into is Snow.
