 Topic: Which Prog Musician Played in the Most Prog Bands?

One thing that always impressed me about the old prog dudes was how they got around. They do an album or two with one band, then move on to another project. My question is this: "What prog musician (or singer) participated in the most number of different prog bands?" Here are the rules: 1. "Participation" means they got credit on at least one professionally produced studio or live album. Simply touring with a band as a fill-in doesn't count, unless they appear on a live album. And bootleg recordings don't count. 2. The prog bands only count if they are listed here in PA. Working with bands that are considered jazz or pop or some other (non-prog) genre doesn't count. Cross-over and Prog-Related are OK to include. 3. We're not counting total albums -- just total bands. A band is considered different if it has a different name. Vast lineup changes under the same name are still considered the same band. 4. List the bands and at least one album for verification. I really don't have a clue who would top this list, but I suspect that guys like Alan Holdsworth or John Wetton would be high on the list.

John Wetton was in quite a few, as Micky says.
Ted Leonard - Enchant, Affector, Thought Chamber, Spock's Beard + solo (could be more, I don't know them all) Roine Stolt has been in all sort of projects.
God knows all Steven Wilson's side projects LOL

Robert Fripp has countless guest appearances.
Brian Eno is another good candidate.
And perhaps Mani Neumeier of Guru Guru.

You can also add Rare Bird (Somebody’s Watching)to John Wetton’s C.V.
Mel Collins would be up there with dozens upon dozens of appearances.
Wakeman also ‘got around’ a bit ha ha, but much of his work was uncredited and laid down for a few beers.
