The new Simon Steensland is stunning, get it, now.
If you love the more chamber sound of 5 Storey Ensemble (Rational Diet spin off) the new one is very good. Other top releases this year Prescott Cheer-Accident Miriodor Schnauser Bubblemath Nick Prol Yowie Edited by Nogbad_The_Bad - July 23 2017 at 13:52 |

Got the new Art Zoyd 14 disc boxset this week from Cuneiform. 8 discs of live material, 4 of unreleased material & 2 DVD's including the full RIO performance from 2015. It is superb, mountains of wonderful material with high quality recordings. Highly recommended for any fan of the band.

Aksak Maboul are reissuing a remastered version of their second album Un Peu De L'Ame DesBandits. Of particular interest is a bonus CD Before & After Bandits featuring unreleased and live material.
PinioL (PoiL and Ni) are releasing a debut album. The first track is up streaming:- |

Seems that bonus disk is only for the vinyl? And good news with Pinol. I'll buy it.

I ordered the bonus disk on its own. If you are in the States and like vinyl and bonus CD then you can get it from Wayside.

I recently discovered a video on Cuneiform's Youtube channel of
Guapo performing their 2015 album Obscure Knowledge in full. I was
completely enraptured the whole way through; great performance, and very
well recorded.
This album's obviously old news
to most people here but back when this was uploaded I was still mostly
listening to neo so it's new to me . |

In case anyone is interested, Something for the Weekend? (the second link in my signature) just published an interesting retrospective dedicated to 10 great RIO/Avant albums - with links to their reviews on the DPRP website. The review of Present's Le Poison Qui Rend Fou was penned by yours truly - back in the day when I still wrote reviews:

^ Just ordered the Far Corner. will attempt to keep expectations down as a) I've been waiting for this for at least half a dozen years and b) everyone seems to be raving about it. But definitely excited.

Need to order both albums. What I have heard on Bandcamp is definitely much to my taste.
