6550 5 star albums, yes that is the correct number, six thousand five hundred and fifty 5 star albums

Looks like he's up over 8,600 now with 8,148 being 5 stars.  Didn't realize we had that many 5 star albums on the site!  Ermm

All those five stars, yet Ash Ra Tempel, Pawn Hearts, and In Extremis only get four LOL

And I feel really bad for the one group deemed worthy of a one star...

Can someone please clean up Sunrise Auranaut's multiple one-star ratings from a bunch of people creating more than one account? It's a damn disgrace.

Say what you want about his sort of music if you don't dig the modern symphonic thing but it's clear as day and completely obvious that something is not right there.

Some nasty music rivals trying to cause problems is what it is, sadly, Noni. And they likely haven't heard a second of his music.

Glad you like what you heard! Let Vitaly know you like his music on his Sunrise Auranaut Facebook page, I'm sure he'd appreciate it!

I can't speak for the motivations or legitimacy of any of the listed raters, but my sampling of the youtube material found some rather cringe-worthy stuff. The compositions are certainly well intended. Unfortunately the execution leaves much to be desired. Wonky drums and guitar playing that seems out of place. Most of what I heard felt 2 star-ish. There are only 20 or so ratings for each album. With PA's scoring system, if a collab writes one more 4-star review for each, they immediately become 3+ overall. That would be generous IMHO.

^^Checked all the albums and ratings from Sunrise Auranaut and none of them have an account with a duplicate IP. Seeing also how the ratings are also separated by months or even years apart, I'm inclined to leave it alone for now, rather than thinking there is some trolling rampage going on.

^^^  It's a shame really,  don't quite understand people's tastes here!..  Think this artist is very easy listening and quite interesting.  He throws a mix bag of various styles, but nothing unpleasant..  Will need to check out his other releases.. Smile

Thanks for your thoughts, guys. I only thought to mention it again because Vitaly, the composer, had contacted me thanking me for my positive reviews over the years, and explained that he'd had issues with some rival musicians, most from where he lives.

His music has definitely improved over the most recent discs, I certainly wish others weren't so nasty and scathing in their instant mark-down of it.

Anyway, just wanted to assure you it wasn't a reaction because of it flying in the face of my own positive/higher ratings. My ego isn't that fragile, and my d*ck sure ain't that small!

I like his music,  very easy listening and very interesting throughout his albums.   Need to get one more album if I can before his 2018 release.  Wink

These accounts seem to come from the same guy, who apparently has lots of free time and who rates the same bands with the same one or two-star ratings more or less. All accounts have been created around mid-June, most with "italian" names, while all of them promoting "Marco Ragni"

^ Thanks, will investigate.

EDIT: Yeah, even the one who claimed to be a Japanese man from Osaka was the Italian. One might have been a friend, but all gone. Thanks again.

^ Anyway no real name like "Akimura Oshimoto" in Japan really ... both are for "family" ones, not "first".

Αnd the "Marco Ragni" guy saga continues.
A profile made today, just to screw up all the ratings of the first 20.

http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=64646

He also posts and boasts about being "no1 in Progarchives" in his "Marco Ragni" facebook page.

Not an easy case to deal with, I'm afraid to say, as he's something of a Scarlet Pimpernel ("We seek him here, we seek him there, [they] seek him everywhere. Is he in heaven? Is he in hell? That damned, elusive Pimpernel." But all ratings gone and took some other steps, and may get more drastic/ aggressive in time, but will have to stay vigilant as bad pennies sometimes keep popping up despite one's most valiant efforts.
