Topic: i came all over Germany... Posted: January 18 2018 at 11:00 |
... or rather the cyclone named "Friederike", which happens to be my name too. It is all over Germany right now reaching wind velocities up to 140 km/h (87 mph). People are recommended to leave the house only if absolutely necessary. I was nearly blown down when I took out the trash and had to steady myself on the wall of our house. It's the worst storm I ever experienced.

Best wishes for riding the storm out safely. But, oh.....the provocative thread title.

^ Absolutely a wild thread title! Hopefully no one was hurt during the climax of the storm!

I just heard in the TV-news that on the Brocken, a mountain in Germany, the wind velocity was 204 km/h or 127 mph.

We've had this storm this morning in the Netherlands. I posted about it in the "Weater report" thread. I had to think of you when I read that the storm was named "Friederieke" and heading for Cologne. The balance in NL matches Rivertree's description equally.
I think that the storm of 25 January 1990 was even worse.

Here in Berlin we were lucky. The storm did not reach us.
