Dr. Ursula Franklin

(1921 - 2016) German-Canadian metallurgist, research physicist, author, and educator who taught at the University of Toronto (yay!) for over 40 years. A brilliant, strong woman, who gave many powerful speeches on pacifism and the futility of war, and feminism.

Ernesto "Che" Guevara (1928 – 1967)
Argentine Marxist revolutionary, doctor, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist.
An important figure of the Cuban Revolution, his iconic face is a ubiquitous countercultural symbol of leftist rebellion. Regrettably (as with the hugely popular "X" ball cap for Malcolm X), many wear his image yet know little about the man or what he stood for.

Heinz Guderian (1888 - 1954)

German WW2 general, developer and advocate of "blitzkrieg" tactics, commander of Panzer (tank) divisions
during the invasions of Poland, France, and the Soviet Union. Frequently clashed with Hitler and the German
high command. An effective, innovative commander, he was not an absolute Nazi scumbag or war criminal, it seems.
After the war, Guderian was a prisoner of U.S. forces and investigated until his release without charges in 1948. He
was often invited to speak to British veterans' groups.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
