I listen to these podcasts on a regular basis- just wondering how many of my prog-buddies also listen...

Since I'm big on podcasts, but didn't want to create a new topic, I opted to bump this poll. I did make one before on podcasts generally, but deleted it due to a total lack of response (I get embarrassed too easily sometimes). I spend more time listening to podcasts than music. Mine is the first vote for Joe Rogan, and the first vote in the poll. I have only listened to a handful of his, though.

Others I listen to but no so regualrly are the Art of Charm, The Partially Examined Life, Philosophy Bites, and Intelligence Squared ones on acast.

I'm not too particular, but I enjoy ones on philosophy, psychology, science, sociology, politics and British humour. Podcasts have become my main form of entertainment over the last year or two. I wouldn't expect huge numbers of people into podcasts at a music forum as they may be too busy listening to music to find the time. Is anyone into any of my choices?

Indeed, no reason why one can't combine one's love of Prog and music generally with the Podcast form. I occasionally listen to musicians on podcasts, but that's more conversation than music itself. Do they chat with band members/ musicians on that http://www.musicinwidescreen.com/ as well?

What I like about podcasts generally-speaking is the long-form discussion. I listen to CBC radio, and they do have some interesting discussions, but too often just as it's getting into interesting-for-me territory (often digressions) the allotted time is up.

It would be rather nice if M@x diversified more by starting a PA Progcast (interviews, music, lists, rants...). Not only could it introduce people to new music, and people could hear from musicians they like and learn more about music, but it could give interesting insight into the minds of Prog community members. Just what are they thinking? I'd so want some of our ex-members back for that (such as Mandrake). And to take a trip into the mind of the master pwogman and come out the other end. Potential discussion topic: Is Captcha hurting Prog? Did Nostradamus predict that Close to the Edge would be top album in the PA charts, was the album predictive of the danger of a Trump win, or did Russian hackers put Close to the Edge at the top of the PA charts as a way of influencing the US election (a sort of sly Siberian khatru if you will)?

I want to start my own podcast or video channel (definitely would be something I'd do as anonymously as possible).

And I think I neglected to mention that I listen to the http://www.radiofreeskaro.com/ podcast sometimes.

I've been meaning to check out the Lexicon Valley podcast. When it comes to listening to podcasts, I do like a wide variety (some serious, some for fun, and some like the crude professors from Very Bad Wizards a combination of both). Various ones I listen to would be offensive to many (love a bit of controversy).

I was tempted to quote from the Holiday Bloviation podcast, which I just listened to, by saying "Yeah man, I'm listening, this sh*t sucks, cut it out" but in honesty I really liked it. www.thesoundofnotgettinglaid.com suits me well and is bookmarked.
