I didn’t see anything in the forum about this 2017 release.
In their early days Styx had a fair amount of prog going on.Then they went pop with ballad heavy hits.
This new release offers some of their earlier pre pop sound.
I just gave it a listen through and was pleasantly surprised it is a good album.
It’s a concept album but really a bit lame on the story line but the music stands up on my opinion overall

Upon reading multiple reviews, I had high hopes.   I was let down by songs that reminded me of Old Styx but never surpassed or equaled the 70's early 80's classic Styx.  Personally I liked 2003's Cyclorama more.

I agree it by no means matches their prime material back in the day.But I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Thanks have never listened to Cyclorama but will check it out.I had given up on Styx years ago and had read some good reviews on the Mission. Now with streaming it allows a listen before making a decision to purchase.
