^ I don't know, doesn't seem to rise to Cosby or even Weinstein levels. In the '70s, people woke up with others' heads on their stomachs frequently.

Indeed, no where in the same league, I agree. I think some of this is getting out of hand. |

The FCC voted today to end Net Neutrality. A good thing or a bad thing? I'm pretty certain this is another case of us telling Trump "thank you sir can I have another" but what do you think?

Oh, the absence of Net Neutrality is not good. Not good at all. It means corporations can monopolize ISPs, limit web traffic, and charge whatever they feel like to let you (or not let you) have a gander at something online. This isn't over yet, though. A number of states are suing, along with various entities. There's a decent chance NN will be reinstated before this is done.

Consider Ajit Pai to be another corporate whore like the Secretaries of the Interior, Education and the EPA, who have done nothing but ignore the wishes of the vast majority of the voting public and cater wholly to billionaire business interests that will enrich them quid pro quo once they leave office. That is Trump's whole raison d'etre: ensuring his own material wealth and that of his oligarchic cronies to be paid by everyone else.
Throw in the sluts and prostitutes who make up the Republican congress and senate waiting to hand us the bill for the tax plan that will add $1 trillion in deficits. They can't suck enough rich d*ck.

Now that everything's set for taxing the working US citizens to the gills while cutting all benefits, wouldn't it be fair to at least let them keep the internet?

It can always be undone. It is sad though. We never really make much progress. Every time Democrats regain control, they have to spend all their time fixing the mess the Republicans make. Then the rich people get scared and throw all their money into advertising (i.e. propaganda and conspiracy theories) and the dumb segments of the population put the Republicans back in control. The cycle never seems to end. The only thing different this time around was that Putin got involved to put an ass in charge. It seems the country is being run by Fox & Friends and/or Moscow. Recently Putin had some sort of 4+ hour press conference in which he had disparaging remarks about the FBI. The next day Trump does the same thing.

I normally don't post in this thread, but as a former tax accountant I feel compelled to say this new tax bill is fiscally irresponsible and a disgusting sham. Besides the fact that those who truly benefit will be the 1% (especially those that speculate real estate - big surprise there) the impending damage to the deficit is mind boggling. I hate dems and repubs equally and it seems neither side of the aisle cares about the debt.
When the dems are in power, they pile on the deficit to support their over-reaching social programs. When the repubs are in power, they pile on the deficit with their tax breaks and corporate welfare. Someday the holders of all those debts will come home to roost with their hands out and we simply won't have the money to pay them - things will get quite ugly for this country when it's debtors take possession. But not to worry, it won't be a problem for our elected lawmakers who vote for this nonsense...they and their families will all be safe and sound with their millions, fortified mansions, gov't pensions & lifetime health insurance. Democracy? No. Republic? No. Plutocracy? That's us alright Edited by The.Crimson.King - December 20 2017 at 08:52 |

Every day or so, it strikes me just how surreal and scary it is that the psychopathic, traitorous, compulsively lying, sexually predatory, fascist, racist, backward, boorish, buffoonish, un-read, ill educated, vulgar, spoiled, autocratic, egotistical, cynical, manipulative, planet-raping, obscene, loathsome, corrupt, fat, ugly, INSANE Donald Trump is president of the USA. It seems like a bad, very dark joke written a decade ago come to life!
He REALLY needs to go--last year! Poor America! Poor EARTH! Make it stop! Uneducated people should not vote, it seems.... Edited by Peter - December 20 2017 at 11:11 |

America, my neighbors, I love you, but half of you seem insane, and you are headed for civil war or out-and-out fascism. Driven by money, superstition, ignorance, dysfunction, fear, and hate, you are racing for a pit.
I don't know how you unite and restore the rule of reason, decency, and the good people, but you must. Edited by Peter - December 20 2017 at 11:05 |

Trickle-down economics works.
It's a well known fact that Robin Hood was a knob-head who took from the rich and gave to the poor, just as they were about to do that themselves. What a wally! |

the f**kers that voted for him did away from those.. numero uno in pantheon of check and balances is the electorate itself.
and that presupposes... they cast informed and educated votes. well again.. give the founding fathers credit... they knew the American public was capable of failing.. which is why they put in the Electoral college to prevent disasters like 2016 when the American public seemed to think a racist, misogynist, completely unqualified, mentally questionable, ethically laughable, and failed business leader should be President. unfortunately it took 200+ years for the American public to prove the fears of the founding fathers right and by the time they had.. the electoral college had become mrrely just a rubber stamp.. not a check and balance on ignorance and stupidity as intended hah

too funny.. and not a day later McMaster gets axed. A coincidence? Hardly I suppose they found who leaked that to the Post. Only a select few had knowledge of the briefing material the jackass got... One less responsible adult in the White House now.. lovely.. replaced with *spits beer on wall* John Bolton. lovely...

Food for thought: On Monday March, 12th Secretary of State Rex Tillerson released a state document condemning Russia for their chemical attack on British soil. On Tuesday March 13th, he was fired by Trump. On March 15th, National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster delivered a blistering speech condemning both the Russian chemical attack in Britain, and also the Russian support of the Syrian use of chemical weapons against its own people. He demanded serious punishment for these "atrocities". In less than a week he was fired. Meanwhile, Trump called Putin to congratulate him on his farcical Russian election. Trump did not mention the British chemical attack or atrocities in Syria. Trump congratulated Putin even though his security advisers warned him no to. Trump's two highest advisers are fired after speaking out on Russia, and Trump in turn congratulates Putin for winning a fixed election. Meanwhile, Trump selected Right-Wing tinfoil hat nut-bag John Bolton to replace General McMaster. Bolton advocates nuclear war against North Korea and Iran. Bolton has already demanded preemptive strikes against both countries. Mike Pompeo, who replaced Tillerson, has also advocated direct attacks on North Korea and Iran. Any bets on Trump starting a war in order to end the Mueller Investigation? I wouldn't put it past the bloated buffoon. |

I suppose he wants to hold that ..errr.. trump card to use closer to the 2020 election. Might be the only chance he has to win reelection. The Bush Light principal.... we have never voted out a sitting President in wartime.. and don't think he doesn't know that.

Ok,so McMaster got fired too? Gets hard to keep track with The Apprentice in full flow. My cousin sis, an American citizen, left for India last Tuesday. By the time she landed in India, Tillerson had been fired and she didn't know about it but I did. It's like the biz news channels say, "What moved the markets while you were sleeping". What changed in Trumpistan while you were offline.
