No matter what I still seem to be a robot, but which of these tests do you find to be the most challenging?  Do you include the sign posts with the street signs?  Is the corner edge of the bumper enough to include the vehicle?  Is an apartment building really an apartment building if you don't see residents out on the balcony?  This poll is just yet another thread to discuss PAs favorite passtime, guess the CAPTCHA and hope to get your post accepted.

Other than I commonly can't post when I do get them right, I haven't found the image challenges very challenging. I do wish they could be more entertaining. Shame we couldn't customise them to Prog album covers.

The answer a problem CAPTCHA can be a pain (unless you are the right sort of robot).

In the future posing advanced equations might be used to weed out the humans, at least the non-enhanced ones, and inferior robots. Already algorithms have been developed that have been effective in beating certain CAPTCHAs such as recognising numbers (using optical character recognition). In the future perhaps CAPTCHA will have to adapt to more subjective tests to see if we pass the Turing test.

No vote, but I'm tempted to do an "other" vote: "Select all images with sexy singers". I always get that wrong, I click on classic Grace Slick, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks and Kate Bush when the correct answer is Geddy Lee (mind you, he does rock that kimono).

The only real question is why are the forum owners continuing to have Captcha on this forum knowing no one likes  it and risking losing members also...?
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

These tests just have me questioning my own cognitive abilities.  Did I get rejected because I included the sign post as part of the sign?  Was it a building sign instead of a street sign so it didn't count?  The store fronts are in a non-English language, did I misinterpret what was really a medical office as a storefront because I couldn't read the non-English name?  My self-confidence has really taken a hit lately with failing all of these CAPTCHA tests.

I presume because he feels it's needed for security. CAPTCHA helps to mitigate DDoS attacks. The hackers crawlers (bots/ programs) have become quite sophisticated and pose a serious threat to the site. They can get into restricted areas, gain passwords and access to accounts, and rewrite and destroy data. The site needs security features for both the sites and members benefit, but I wish this worked better for ease of use.

I probably fail the store front ones the most. 

And yes...even if there is just the slight bit of bumper in the square, I included it. But no to the sign posts.

I think most of the times that I've been turned down, it was an apartment buildings one. In general, the trickiest (most tedious?) ones are the "trace the outline of the street sign" ones.

By trying to get it correct you're helping Google develop their AI. The right thing to do is to either pick a couple of wrong ones or leave out a couple of right ones and keep doing that until you pass.
