https://soundcloud.com/limpid-green/01there-were-giants-in-those-days-temp-vox This is an experiment. We are a duo of multi-instrumentalists, both completely lacking any vocal abilities. We have this album recorded, sans vocals. I started putting a computer voice on just to get the phrasing of the lyrics down and the arrangements laid out. This is one of the songs with temporary voice. I was wondering what would happen if I threw this out there - and someone with a real interesting voice might stumble on it and be completely enthralled and say "Wow - I want to sing that!" and then contact me and I would send him or her a track and he or she would record his or her vocals and our album would sell millions of copies and we would become rich rock stars. These are the lyrics: 1. There Were Giants in Those Days 8:51 a. The Nephilim Pt 1 Back in the days before Christ Was a land of The Giants Born of the Sons Of God And the Daughters of Men They were the heroes of old Anaqim Og and Goliath They lived in Ur of Chaldees They were the Men of Renown But they grew too large And they got too strong And they got too evil And they lived too long So God sent rain and the skies grew dark but they weren’t invited on Noah’s Ark In the days of the Giants There were Giants in those days b. Sometimes Clowns Sometimes Clowns disrupt your train of thought Sometimes Clowns Invade your story line Sometimes Clowns ruin a perfectly good tale c. The Nephilim Pt 2 Og was the name of their king He could step over mountains With his feet on the ground And his heads in the clouds His bed was 9 cubits long It was forged out of iron Tall as the cedars if it was stood up on end But they grew too large And they got too strong And they got too evil And they lived too long So God sent rain and the skies grew dark but they weren’t invited on Noah’s Ark d. Weights and Measures The hook on the wall keeps your spine inline The roof up above deflects the dust The rabbit and the bird hang at 3 and 9 The leaf and acorns - The antlers and the horn The musket cross adorns - the peak above the door A spring latch opens up the door Releasing a parasitic bird wooden men dance spinning circles on the floor Weights pull the chains turning wheels in your brain Bellows pump the air through passages up there And you are out of time You are out of time ©2017 Greg Mathieson |

^ If Goliath was one of them he must have been a good swimmer? i.e. if he was alive in Samuel he didn't die in Genesis.

I make no claims of chronological accuracy. The lyrics are strictly for entertainment purposes only!

Every time I've advertised for a vocalist, there are either no responses (even on forums, they all want to play live and be adored) or you get someone who sounds like they actually ARE in the act of swallowing a weasel whilst singing.
"Hey, I've got my own microphone" is about the best response I've ever had. Something to be doubly aware of is vocalists who then decide that they can write lyrics. It seems quite amazing that someone can rhyme "smoke" with "coke", which has apparently never been done before, and think they've somehow short circuited a lifetime of actually learning to play a musical instrument. |

I was devoid of hope
So I extinguished my smoke And bought a bottle of coke And a lot of rope I tied myself to a railing The effort was draining Then it started raining And the wind was wailing So I went back to my house But I saw a mouse With the face of a clown And my trousers turned a weird shade of brown |

I really didn't expect much - but I was bored one night and wondered what would happen. Pretty sure our album is going to be instrumental.
Unless Richey... hey, I'll let you sing your own lyrics if you have your own microphone! |

p.s. I'd love to help you with some vocals but I'm informed that when I try to sing it sounds like a medium-sized pig being strangulated in a vat of treacle. In other words I'm waiting for an offer from an avant-prog / avant-metal band.
