Topic: Petition for The Tea Party to join Posted: December 24 2004 at 14:06 |
Since people are getting bands like Primus in the archives, i dont think this band should be left out. Lets make the distinction first, they arent a band that i LIKE and am trying to justify as prog (like many do here), i firmly believe they are prog and shoud be allowed in. Their music is complex , often heavily influenced by eastern roots and "World music", and they cant be called generic rock. Although their latest effort"The Seven Circles" is more mainstream than anything theyve ever done, albums like "Splendor Solis" and "The Edges of Twilight" are most certainly progressive.
Lastly, i dont know if they are known very well outside of Canada and i apoligize if they arent.

A few of their songs got some radio play here in Canada awhile back. I figure if they're prog, then we should go ahed and add The Doors as well...

Im sorry, but both asuma and usefull idiots opinions are both invalid for this thread, becase theyve obviuosly never heard anything other than the stuff of off the last 2 albums which id just rock and roll. Edges of Twilight is one of my favourite albums, and i think also if primus is going to be cosidered prog so should early tea party. (Maybe there should just be a petetion to keep primus off of prog archives?)

I didnt have that petition for primus just because I like them, I actually believe they are prog.
I never heard much tea party, so I wouldnt say they are prog, but you never know mabye they are, I just havent heard anything other than temptation and that other song.
