Hello there fello progsters!
 I wonder if it would be possible to start rating reviews. Often i have felt the need to praise excellent reviews and, occasionally, to penalize bad ones. Commenting reviews would probably be a bad idea for it would likely start word feuds among us. It would be a great way to incentive reviewers to excel, i believe. Thanks people, Cheers!! Scarritual |

There are some threads like the Reviews Reporting Thread (used to report reviews that are at variance with the rules) and the Reviews discussion thread, which are seldom used nowadays, and the I really like your review!!-thread which is relatively new and sees more posts these days.
In my humble opinion, rating reviews would be one bridge too far, but feel free to add stars (

Ummmm? Let's start the thread "Man, I really hate your review!"  Seriously though, with an idea like yours it's not entirely that of a bad one, but it will be a headache sometimes. To have your idea be successful you'll need to accrue a good group of people who can tolerate and understand the difference between constructive criticism and insults. Believe me, their are many people in this world who really actually don't get that difference.  Anyway, I appreciate your idea cause I've written about a couple of dozen reviews on PA and really I can only say I'm proud of about 5 of those reviews. Anyhow of those 5 I've written I personally would appreciate some criticism that is intelligent. Anyhow. Let's see if it takes off. I have a feeling a thread has already been started.

Honestly, some of the worst reviews have caused me to listen to the album in question. Additionally, I feel like there are quite a few reviewers who are putting their best foot forward writing in English as a second (or 4th or 8th) language. I wouldn't want the door open to them getting beaten up for it.
