I found a way to beat captcha
I just vote on the polls without posting... It (the system) hasn't yet discovered it could ruin our fun in that way as well

But I, on the other hand, do. I personally can deal with Captcha as it hardly affects me me on my PC, and hasn't affected me on my MacBook or iPads at all, but losing the people that make this place worth visiting is another matter altogether. It's sad to see a community die, and that has been my experience on the four boards I belonged to before joining this one (this one definitely lasted the longest and I am a one discussion board at a time kind of guy). Hopefully people will get the chance to, and wish to, stay-in-touch whatever happens here. |

George and Keishiro have had some communication with TPTB. I don't think that the Captain has abandoned the ship, but the Captain is more of an Admiral with, if not much of a fleet, quite a number of boats to float. He has already made attempts to improve the situation, and I think that this will be addressed more ere long.

Fair assessment, I'd say It's not that M@X doesn't give a sh*t/f**k about PA anymore, he's just too busy elsewhere... Business doesn't wait, pleasure can. I know I once said he was shrewd and ruthless, but just the fact that he still owns the never-made-money PA/MMA/JMA sites and didn't get rid of them, says something about him. I just wonder why he's chosen to risk PA as a guinea pig (it still has an important followership), rather than experiment Captcha on MMA (maybe too many metal sites in competition and metal-heads are more volatile/volage as well ) and JMA - where, all due respect to JS and Slava/Snobb, the forum is dead (was never really alive). |

^ our forum has always been dead, but our new release features with mp3s are driving daily visitor figures ever higher. Jazz sites tend not to center around chit-chat, ever since allaboutjazz shut down their dying forum, I don't know of any jazz site with a discussion forum. Instead, jazz sites tend to focus on info you can not find elsewhere, and there is lots of competition and plenty of jazz sites and blogs.

Considerable, I'd say. I hope people leaving here gravitate to PE. Or if not there, then somewhere. |

This problem hasn't been fixed, after I solve their puzzle I get the green tick but then it denies it to be posted

^What is called "Search Robot" on the forum home page, is called "Search Engine" on the Active Users page.
A guest is numbered among the Search Engines/Robots when the content of the OS/Browser column on the Active Users page starts with "Search Engine". In any other case of an active user which has no user name and is not logged in anonymously, we have a Guest. Anyway, those Robots are not logged in, so they cannot post, so, according to my simple man's logic, there is no need of CAPTCHA's whatsoever. |

It's become obvious. Nobody seem to give a sh*t about this site anymore. That's what I've been hearing. Most of the bands in the data base aren't really prog bands. I mean what is The Mahavishnu Orchestra doing here? Some of the other sites are definitely more focused. When I first came here I went whaaaat? I'm pretty much done with this robot sh*t and juvenile why don't girls like prog threads.

^ The forum here might be dying but the database remains an invaluable resource. Immensely huge and relatively complete. I think if I could keep only one thing on the whole Internet that would be it. The Mahavishnu Orchestra clearly have their place here and besides imo it's better to have a broad view on the term progressive and include just about every progressive artist with released material than to narrow it down if you claim to be "The Ultimate Prog Rock Resource".
Seeing the comments on this thread predicting the demise of the forum, I tried a few other music forums and have found nothing that comes close to being a place I can call home like here. Some obviously have a lot more members and are consequently much more active but I think the average of people who know their sh*t is much higher here. PA's community I think is also significantly more interesting. Besides, the biggest forums are censored like hell; such a pain in the ass to have half of your posts (not even potentially offensive or anything) censored by moderators . Long live PA's, hope you'll get back in shape soon .

Yup the robot sh*t is tiresome, and we all wish M@X would come to his sense... And yes, the women thread is definitely not the bestthread around, but if you're stopping at that, then don't let the door hit you in the back after you slam it when leaving this place The quicker the better |
