The more I post here, the more I realize that my being a musician affects my perception of the music. Although I certainly have a lot of music that I've recorded that isn't prog, there is a lot of influence - I hope! You have to let me know what you think. So here's a playlist where I cherrypicked the most prog-likely pieces from my Soundcloud page. Some I chose because they are in odd time signatures, some because of the Moog synths, one because I had a friend scratch the Close to the Edge LP, in any case they are all instrumental. Feel free to comment or criticize!

Excellent sound and mix, engaging piece, a bit unfinished but in a jammy way.   Well done, and I like the In Search Of  synthesizer sound; very 1976.

Thank you for listening! I only have one track with cowbell - it's not very prog unless Rickenbacker bass counts as a criteria! It is a tribute to Lemmy though so there's a Hawkwind connection:

Thanks - a lot of my music is me jamming with a drummer who I've known for almost 25 years, then building off of that. In this case, I only kept the drum take - he is such a musical drummer, he can groove and rock but he can also improvise. I used to call some of them "fuzz tone poems" - though this one isn't fuzz oriented, I still think of it as a tone poem of sorts, where the sounds are part of the composition. 

I haven't thought about In Search Of in years! I remember seeing it a few times as a kid - wonder how much the musical aesthetic influenced me?
