Any Alex Harvey Band Fans Out There?

   While doing some on line shopping for Christmas, I threw in a best of album by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band.  Actual title is "All Sensations (Best of)".  I had forgotten how much I enjoyed their humor and theatrics, as well as the music.  More of blues/hard rock style.  May be considered part of the Glam Rock world, not sure though.
Never saw them live, but they were on some of the concert TV shows in the 70s from time to time, I always stopped and watched.  The guitarist Zal Cleminson, always dressed up as a mime clown, was actually quite a good guitarist.

You can find some of their footage on Youtube, even a remake of a Tom Jones hit "Delilah" which they did quite well with some humorous choreography in the middle.

Anyway been enjoying the CD and wondered if any proggers out there were fans?

	Not a huge fan by any means but I did enjoy them back in the 70s and still listen to them from time to time. I saw them in 1977 and they were fantastic (not a word I bandy around lightly).

	I did get interested in them in the early 90's but that didn't go any further than a compilation. I loved "Faith Healer" but hated "Gang Bang". Really loved "The Tale Of The Giant Stone Eater" and would snap up an album full of that in a heartbeat!

	Still fan since 1975, never ages Rock Theatre at finest, alongside the mighty GENESIS, of course The Dark Side of Glam, sheer class. Zal Cleminson is brilliant guitarist, that Gibson SG sound man ! Brit Rock at Best. Cool stuff man Alex Harvey was already in his early forties fronting this legendary band, the other lads were in their mid twenties ! 	SAHB were never big in the States - except in the Cleveland area, for some reason. "The Faith Healer" and "Man In the Jar" are big radio faves on the classic rock station here. I have 3 SAHB discs - Next..., The Impossible Dream and Tomorrow Belongs To Me. Lots of great stuff on those albums. There's a fine line between genius and nutjobbery, and Alex Harvey walked it better than most.

	Rabid fan, here. Vambo Rool! Bought their LPs as released & upgraded (sorry, vinyl lovers) to CDs when those were released. Living in the USA (sorry, Steve Miller fans), I never had the chance to see them live, alas. R.I.P. Alex! BTW, "There's No Lights on the Christmas Tree, Mama, They're Burning Big Louie Tonight" is the greatest Christmas song ever written, and one that I play every Christmas.
