would early AC/DC(satanic lyrics) and early
Rush(Rickenbacher thumping) existed without
TRAPEZE - MEDUSA? The first band that the Moody
Blues signed to Threshold records? Didnt the 3
members go on to form Whitesnake, Judas Priest
and the other to replace Roger Glover in Deep
Purple? A true classic album with as much influence
in the industry as BLACK SABBATH - PARANOID!!!

Because AC/DC have always had their tongues firmly in their cheeks, but Whitesnake.......

Am I the only one who hankers for the old Whitesnake with Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Bernie Marsden, Micky Moody & Neil Murray?

For newcomers to the band, this was before the membership of Whitesnake became a Coverdale lookalike competition.

Back on thread though - in the 1980's my second home was Hammersmith Odeon, and you could always guarantee a yearly visit from these guys (and an aching neck in the morning, courtesy of the tightest rhythm section in rock).

Ah - memories....

Went to see Peter Frampton (Why was he supporting Deep Purple???). Anywoo, as a crowd warmer Thunder did a 30 min set. They came onto to "Thunderstruck". To a man (and woman) everyone clapped and stamped thier feet up until they came on stage.

I've never been a big fan, but there's no arguing they record some classic music.

i like them a lot especially albums Highway To Hell and For Those About To Rock, not prog band but classic hard rock and i love good hard rock. i like Bon Scott better, he was like Geddy Lee clone at the time of making this last record recorded with him. Bon is the king!

Everyone likes to whinge about their favourite hot-shot guitar player, but
no-one has as perfect a tone as Angus Young. Hardly any distortion, just
natural muscle and perfect sustain from his wee fingers. Nifty.

AC/DC: great rock'n'roll band. Pure and simple rock'n'roll, nothing more than this. I am not a great fan of them, but I have some of their albums, and I play it when I want to listen good rock'n'roll. "Ride on" is one of the greatest bluesy-rock ballads of all time.

my favourite is probably if you want blood we've got it! Classic live album and great album. Studio album wise, Bon Scott era kicks Brian Johnson era's ass even if it did have Back in Black.

Live at Donington is a holy relic of rock n roll. It don't really get much better than that dvd!

new album Strap It On on the way.
