Noxagt - s/t (2006)
First listen to this Ultralyd-related band (it started as Ultralyd bassist Kjetil Brandsdal's solo project, but was soon expanded to a power trio, which included Ultralyd guitarist Anders Hana on this, their third album). Good stuff. Think Ultralyd, without the sax, and you're not far off about how this sounds.

Clap

Love that album man! Can't get enough of Hansson's vintage sound, soooo beautiful!
I have the Virgin reissue that contains a bonus track, even that little thing is priceless!

First album of the day

It's been a while since I got it this is only my second spin.

Miriodor were really my gateway band.. and that album was key.. in finally getting what rio-avant was all about.

What sealed it was seeing them at the French Embassy here .. amazing show.. in hindsight.. even as cool as it was having Christian Vander bum a Winston from me and nearly stealing his wife from him later at the VIP party... Miriodor was even more powerful than Magma.. and that is saying something.

a Wiener Philharmonic copy I have.. but no recorded version matches the power of seeing this performed live

We saw the National Symphony do this at Wolf Trap a few years ago... simply f**king amazing...
