Definitely an enormous fan of Howe's music. The small crush thing is entirely separate.

pfff....  newbies... say that to the hand... you missed the good old days of the site...

'John Patrucci's favorite breakfast cereal' will forever be the greatest thread ever seen here...

long since hidden I'm sure... that was bloody, violent and fully of sex when Raff finally joined in...

it is when you saw the Godfather and his vicious elitist crew of rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, sh*t-kickers and Methodists descended upon the DT fanboys and oohhhh..

how the blood spilled...

In the summer of 1989, I talked by phone to Triumvirat's Juergen Fritz. EMI in Germany gave me his number, thinking I was a friend or something. (though I didn't pretend I was)
A woman answered, and after I nervously stammered, "Could I speak to Juergen Fritz?" She laughed and said, "So you want to speak to Juergen Fritz?", and put him on the line.
I told him that he didn't know me, but that I was a great admirer of his, and asked him if he was still involved in writing, playing, and producing music, and he said, "All of the above." He then queried me, and asked how I got his number? I told him what happened, and then he kind of brushed me off, not knowing me from Adam.
I fared a bit better with a phone call in December, 2002, to Dzyan's guitarist/sitar player, the late Eddy Marron. He seemed an affable chap, and we had a conversation about his music. English was not his first language. though, so I spoke somewhat slowly.

^ Wow, gotta admire your commitment when it comes to Triumvirat!

I can't say I've gone so far as to look for a musician's phone number, but Daniel Andreoli (Bubu) and I have messaged each other on facebook.

They're more "opinions" than "secrets", but I'm sure many prog fans who lived in the 70's will likely disagree with me. Keep in mind that I discovered classic prog and new prog all at the same time.

Keystudio is my second favorite Yes album after TFTO. I also like "In the Presence of" from Magnification much more than "And You and I".

The Lamb and The Wall are great classic concept albums, but every single Ayreon album since Electric Castle absolutely crushes them, at least for me.

And lastly, Frost* is better than your favorite band.

Man, I really do love these opinion-related threads.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is the worst Genesis album of the 70s.
Progressive folk is second to symphonic prog
Instrumental albums are often better than ones with vocals
I consider Ultravox's first album prog related
It's My Life is my favorite Talk Talk album :)

yeah. Most forums, and probably to a greater extent the entire internet, has lost its edge and has all of the sharpness of a child's squeaky balloon hammer.

hehe... you ain't kiddin' man.. I think Dean summed it up well in one of his forum musings...

the internet in its early days was indeed wild ... and this site was indeed Dodge City. The classic admins were less Sheriffs and more the undertakers and policed up the bodies every night ...

and the fastest and meanest gunslingers became legends....(if but in their own minds) LOL

I don't care for Rush, that's my secret. I never understood why they have such a dedicated fanbase, but good for them! Smile

Just have on constant rotation A Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres until you puke, and you'll understand.

I've tried and sometimes think I could succeed were it not for those appalling vocals.

I think Rick Wakeman's keyboards are more flashy than interesting.

I mean, technically he's great, I just find his work kind of superficial.

Yes, just dreadful. He sings like a vagabond!
