The music is pretty good, but the lyrics are pure nonsense. Tongue
I like these mythological lyrics, kind of adds to the mystique of the band. The voices are superb, and the language itself sounds, well, pretty. There are English translations in the booklet which are somewhat amusing to read. I'm sold. One of my favourites, this album.

"All the shops in Oslo are children of the King of Ekeberg"?

I'm Norwegian, and I can't say I've ever heard the Norwegian language being described as 'pretty', it's more commonly described as being very monotone and difficult to learn and follow for non-native speakers.

I dunno, I just love this album, it has a beautiful, organic sound, great playing and memorable melodies. It has a certain vibe, or atmosphere I can immerse myself in and get taken away. What all great music should do. And it's a fantastic package as LP., but they botched the track-listing on the sides - side one has tracks 1-3, side 2 is 4-7. Minor flaw, and Froislie's keyboard credits don't match up. Almost perfect, then.

^^ You're right, Tom, it means "changelings". Love their debut, but was a bit disappointed with their sophomore effort. I have their latest, but haven't gotten around to listen to it yet. I have, however, heard that track, "Ekebergkongen", live, when they opened for Enslaved a few years back. Don't know where CC got "shop" from, it's definitely "changelings" (byttinger).

Anyway, before:
Now:
First listen.

Classic "excuse me while I kiss this guy" moment from me there caused by a difference in dialects...  It is indeed translatable as changelings Embarrassed

I should probably have an entry at http://www.kissthisguy.com/

^^ "Butikker", of course. LOL

To erroneously quote Bob Dylan, as he's so relevant these days, "The ants are my friends, they're blowing in the wind". LOL
