What albums did you listen to today?

Clearlight - Clearlight Symphony. Another one I've forgotten about. That mixture of Girls Who Grow Plump-era Caravan Canterbury sound with some symphonic elements, electronic music  gives really neat results. Very refreshing and quite unique.
Between - And the Waters Opened. This is one of those albums that I did not really enjoy at first listen, highly likely not because there was something wrong with the music, but I just wasn't in the mood. This is a really nice album with its mixture of spacey electronic and exotic-sounding influences. Not anything to write home about, but pretty enjoyable, for me.
Ash Ra Tempel - Le Berceau De Cristal. This is where it's all at for me. As I said yestarday, I think, the sonic landscapes crafted by Manuel Gottsching are the most appealing to me personally. He can just make things click! And this one was no exception. It sounded a bit like Inventions or New Age of Earth at times but with some elements that Klaus Schulze's solo works often have. And that Farfisa sound! That's something I adore. Really, such a great album!
Pink Floyd - A Saucerful Of Secrets. Often dismissed by Floyd fans as inconsistent, but this era of Pink Floyd is fascinating. They experimented with a similar sound that some krautrock bands seem to have picked up in the 70's (Amon Duul II being the most obvious one). Even the singy-songy songs go beyond being simple with the omnipresent dark, cosmic quality. Hearing "Celestial Voices" is always a blessing, although I like the Pompeii version more.
Klaus Schulze - Timewind. Continuing my Klaus Schulze listenings with Timewind! In comparison with the previous releases, this one comes across as the most ambient, calming, and the smoothest. Quite soporific at times, yet very rewarding. One of my favorite albums of pure ambient by far.

Funny you mention this, mate! I randomly thought of this album the other day and instantly thought of you and the others with the constant Canterbury related mentions on this thread lately:

It's listed on the site as a Zeuhl album (perhaps because it features some future members of Magma), but the style of the band was quite similar to Egg and the Soft Machine. The CD is listed as being released in 1994, but it's actually a compilation of recordings from the early Seventies of the group, who never recorded a proper studio album. So all we've got left is a handful of bootleg-like recordings, some of which sound great, others that sould like they were recorded in a toilet! I've got a mini LP version of this one that adds a few additional recordings, and I honestly think it's a great collection. Of course, you'll have to decide if you have the patience to listen to the varying sound quality, but I think some of it is up on Youtube. Here's the few couple of tracks at least:

No problem, Tymon, I hope you dig it! Pretty sure you will, as long as the sound quality doesn't bug you too much. I think of it is as a bit of tragic missed opportunity, but what we have left with is still pretty nice.

Gary, did you get that Witches of God `They Came to Kill' album? I think it's only available on a CD and LP combo set. I heard some of it on Youtube, I was astonished how much it sounded like a kick-ass version of the Bridgit Wishart-era of Hawkwind, the singer even sounded like her! (yes I actually checked to see if it was her )

I'm long overdue to make a Kozmik Artifactz order....Sadly both February and late July/early August are the absolute worst for me bill-wise, so I need to ease up a little!

^ Gary I'll definitely look into that Radio Moscow live album, that should be a good addition since I've stopped buying their studio albums.
