^True, Tom, it's a pity, I'm sure it would be loads of fun to have a few beers with you folks or just simply listen to music together. It's also a pity I can't do that with anyone here in Poland - although prog is quite popular here, I can't complain (record stores have loads of prog records), I can never find people who would share my tastes. Thank internet for these forums!

Some seems to find this place rather boring nowadays (not enough bloodshed, I suppose) but, yeah, it's a good place to hang out.
Time to undust some Pendragon records!

Love ya too, Tommy! Heh....really, we're all just a bunch of music geeks with too much time on our hands! Tonight's choices, mostly a modern selection: Ashra – New Age of Earth I.Q – The Road of Bones (disc 1) I.Q – Frequency I.Q – The Seventh House Beardfish – Sleeping in Traffic: part 1 Pendragon – Pure Ben Craven – Last Chance to Hear (seriously, what an unbelievably good album!!) Klaus Schulze – Cyborg Anderson/Stolt – Invention of Knowledge - It's pretty good, and while Anderson hasn’t sounded so strong and Yes-like as a singer in so long, holy LORD I don’t think he stops singing for even a minute throughout the entire 65 minute album! I wanted to hear some nice extended instrumental stretches, but nooooooooo. What’s going on behind him sounds great, just wish it was given more prominence. As for comparison talk that it's comparable to `Tales from Topographic Oceans' – let's calm the f*ck down! It literally sounds like Anderson fronting a vocal-heavy version of the Flower Kings.

Awesome music, two guys above me! National Health - Of Queues and Cures. This is my favorite release from National Health, which pictures them flirting with a sound somewhat reminiscent of Henry Cow's music of the period. Even some members of HC guest on this album. Even with that, it does not lose its Canterburianness (is that a word?). I have also noticed a much wider use of Hammond organ on this one compared to their debut and HatN records. Nazgul - Nazgul. I started listening to this album with very high hopes. It undoubtedly is a very good, dark, moody ambient album, but for me it lacks that spice that I like in my Progressive Electronic/Krautrock albums. I don't want to come across as closed-minded or conservative, no. I thought it was very good, just something did not click entierly for me. That's all. But I will come back to it definitely. Manuel Göttsching - Ash Ra Tempel -The Private Tapes Vol. 1. Wow! This is a good album! Incredibly inspiring. It really shows what a true musical genius, and that is a perfect word for him, Manuel is. The sonic landscapes he has to offer, I find the most hypnotizing and fascinating in the whole krautrock genre. And the last track is such a unique treasure! The blues-rock influence of Manuel's is really confirmed here. Klaus Schulze - Blackdance. This is so, so good! I love this one. This is how I like my electronic music. Extremely meditative. I think an organized work like this is kind of reminiscent of classical music even, putting Klaus alonside the greatest composers. It has such a great variety and diversity to it. Love it!
I have also just come back from a YOA Orchestra of the Americas concert. I was blown away by their interpretation of La Noche de Mayas by Silvestre Revueltas. Highly recommended!

Another perfect day. The Mission-- God's own medicine ( one of their best from their early period. A song like 'wasteland' is pretty irresistible. ;) Peter Gabriel-- New Blood ( dear god. Serious HUGE audio quŕlity on this album and the performance of the Intruder and Darkness are above and beyond. Great album. Lots of atmosphere. ) FW-- Theories of flight. ( I don't know how many rounds I gotta go with this album till I can shelf it for a bit. Lol) FW-- Inside Out (remastered edition) : One of my all time favs. Island in a stream levels me. ) Goblin-- Four of a Kind ( I'm so glad I bought this one. Pignatelli is a bass god to me. ) The Mission-- God is a Bullet. ( I'm starting to guess these guys might not a weak album at all )

Now Shuck it!! Hey. This a great site and you've hit one of the best forum/threads on PA. All very nice people here who love our prog like no ones business. Enjoy. I warn you though, you'll get information overload and wanna listen and explore so many prog bands. I guess that's really not a bad thing. Anyway, welcome. This site, I feel, is to discover new and old sounds while partaking in a pretty good community/family of proggers who love music as you do,which is why forums and reviews are fun to check out whom ever opinions you come to respect.

Really? That's disappointing. I already think "The Gates of Delirium" has too much vocals

Electric Moon - Theory Of Mind | Funny, I was thinking about that album yesterday morning. I'll have to put it on the vinyl stack
Ufomammut - IdolumPortishead - Third (It's a very nice album, although I'd like it more if it had more instrumental parts. I mean, the singer has a great voice, but that's no reason to constantly sing) Pendragon - Pure (Indeed, that first track really rocks Great album )

Hey Sam! Right on, Man! That Symphony X album ( V-Mythology) is one of my beloved. Really love the Keyboards by Pinella. I think he is a god among insects. He plays so beautifully on that album. What a great listen. ;) | Yeah, really great keyboards. The vocals are some of the best I heard on a Metal album too, in my opinion. It made me think of how great DT could be with that singer
The Astroboy - Flow My Tears (While finishing the bio) Spelljammer - Ancient of Days Electric Orange - Volume 10 (I really... really need this ) Ingranaggi Della Valle - In Hoc Signo (Third listen, I'm starting to get into it. Great album Unfortunately the vinyl has one less song than the CD and it's a really cool instrumental from what I read. Well, at least I have this | Lol I take it TD's Cyclone didn't work for ya? And nice Ingranaggi set!! That's such a great RPI album. I really enjoyed it back in 2013. But yeah, Russel Allen of Symphony X has an incredible set of pipes on him. I would very much recommend their latest, UNDERWORLD to explore that fact.

^ I said DT, not TD. LaBrie's vocals give me headaches Cyclone is an awesome album.
Yeah, it's a great album. I noticed it lacks not one, but two tracks. They came on a separate 7'' vinyl on some very limited editions. I'll have to get it on CD if I come across it.
I'll have to listen to many albums before getting to that one.
