Adagio - Sanctus Ignis
Distillerie di Malto - Suono! (What a great album that I completely forgot about ) Solar Glory - Pilot Neuronium - Vuelo Químico (I think is the problem with some Neuronium albums is the lack of cohesion. Side A could be a classic TD epic but side B is quite uninspired.) La Maschera di Cera - Il Grande Labirinto (I keep telling myself to get some of their albums. This is very good) Brain Pyramid - Magnetosphere The Viridian Groove - Surrealistic Seven Lunatic Soul - Walking on a Flashlight Beam (This album really hit me last night)

I totally forgot about that `Suono!' album too, Sam. It vanished when my Ipod crashed, and I think I forgot to dig the CD off the shelf and load it on again. I honestly don't recall a single note from it, except that it was good (and Sagi was the one who insisted I keep listening to it!) I have NEVER come across a Neuronium album in all my years of attending fairs, etc. Before I started on the Archives I remember reading in awe about them on various electronic/ambient blog pages, and I so badly wanted to get some proper CD's/LP's of their music. Do you know if there is a CD reissue of `Quasar 2C361' (preferrably with the original artwork)? `Le Porte del Domani' is the only La Maschera album I have (and a damn fine one it is too), I'd like to get some more. I do have a massive poster of the artwork that I'm thinking of getting framed and put on the garage wall! That Lunatic Soul album absolutely wipes the floor with the last two Riverside albums...it might actually be the best thing Duda has put his name to. ^ I read your 5 stars review yesterday, it's probably more than good
Me neither, and I'm right next to Spain! I bought "Heritage" through Discogs though and it's even more uneven. It has some similarities with "Tangram". I looked into it yesterday and they released "Quasar" and the one I listened on a two CD compilation. The original artwork is only inside though. I'll give that one another listen soon. Awesome I agree It has such a dense atmosphere, I was shivering.

Thanks, mate, I was under the impression that 2 CD Neuronium set was perhaps a re-recording, but if not, I'll likely get onto buying that. Damn, that new artwork is freaking repulsive!
I can't wait to get home in two hours, I've got my massive latest order from Syn-Phonic waiting on my couch, just arrived a few minutes before I left this morning. I'll be spending an hour putting all the non-digipack CD's into proper plastic cases, so I've `Big Bang Theory' loaded into the blu-ray ready to go and have playing in the background while I do. Heh, I just saw the one again last night where Howard builds the robot hand! I do NOT like that one! |

It says something like "Original recordings and performances digitally remastered" on the cover. Yeah, the cover is ugly.
That's awesome! A lot of great stuff, if I remember well. Nah, that one was really funny

That episode makes me feel...very uncomfortable! I shouldn't worry, it's not like a have a robot hand home here to potentially lead me into the same situation!

It's such a great album, isn't it? I love it! Yestarday: Ash Ra Tempel - Seven Up. Coming back from my vacation means unlimited access to all music, without being dependent on my iPod. This is really heavy psychedelia. I like the blues influences that resonate in between the layers of kosmische musik, which are one of Ash Ra Tempel's trademarks. Today: Magma - Köhntarkösz. To be frank, this was my first encounter with this album. Undoubtly a very demanding and difficcult listen, but suprisingly rewarding for the first listen. I think the addition of sustaining keys in form of Yamaha organ is a very ince touch and something that suits Magma's dark moods very well. Nice album! Will have to come back to it! The Cosmic Jokers - Planeten Sit-In. Generally considered as the "lesser" Cosmic Jokers album, Planeten Sit-In is quite different to its predecessors. However, I think it is not worse than the two previous releases. The throbbing bass guitar, quite omnipresent, adds a bit of a "proto-stoner" like quality really, while Klaus Schulze's work is at the first plan this time. The pieces are quite short, which is quite annoying IMO, because it does not let them develop certain moods and atmospheres. Galactic Explorers - Epitath For Venus. Interesting album this is. It is somewhere in between Cyborg-era Klaus Schulze, Zeit-era Tangerine Dream, Cluster and a few other acts. One thing is for certain - this is reaaaally spacey. To cite Arthur Brown "I could see galaxies being born, I could see them die..." Probably not a very innovative cosmic ambient album, but undoubtely highlighting all of its atributes. Cromagnon - Orgasm. Something from the other side of the pond. Really, this album is so far-out and avant-garde for 1969, it's unbelieveable. I feel like this could even be called "proto-noise" or "proto-industrial." The band uses various pre-recorded tapes, which in conjuntion create extremely unsettling parts. Sticks and stones are often used as percussion instruments. However, there are some moments including normal instrumets - drums, acoustic gutiar, and... (not so normal) BAGPIPES! If that somehow interests you, listen to the piece "Caledonia", which I believe to sum up the whole album. This is some really weird, far-out music, even today! The Muffins - <185>. I just guess I was not in the mood for this album. I did not particularly enjoy it, although I appreciated the work immensly, if that makes any sense to you, the reader. In the quality of the music, I believe this album is right up there with the finest RIO works of Henry Cow, Art Bears, Art Zoyd, Etron Fou Leloublan, Stormy Six and such! The Canterburian character remains present, however. A really good album, will have to listen to it a few more times! Radio Noisz Ensemble - Yniverze. This is a really strange beast! Radio Noisz Ensemble's distinctive blend of Arabic music, jazz, folk, and the raw meat of krautrock fructifies in an incredibly rewarding musical journey. The quirky sound of various wind instruments in conjunction with acoustic guitars and numerous drums are put into complex, intricate arrangements, which don't quite fit in any particular category. This was my day! |

Hey Sam! Right on, Man! That Symphony X album ( V-Mythology) is one of my beloved. Really love the Keyboards by Pinella. I think he is a god among insects. He plays so beautifully on that album. What a great listen. ;) Today and yesterday. Just more FW madness. FW-- Night on Brockën ( Damnation is such a wicked track. ) FW-- FWX ( some clear gems on this one. ) FW-- theories of flight ( listened to this one 3 times in a row today. You tell me if I like it just a bit. Lol) Airbag--Disconnected APP-- stereotomy APP-- live in Colombia (2013) great live album once again! The live orchestra is perfect. FW-- darkness in a different light ( still incredible. ) The Eden House-- smoke and mirrors ( you really here the Nephilim come out from time to time. ;) FW-- still life ( disc 2 only. ) what a set list. |
