I missed this thread the first time around.  The Toyah and Robert clip is really cool.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

The last time I saw a prog band on a variety show, I was living in the U.K. And that was thirty years ago.
This message was brought to you by a proud supporter of the Deep State.

More recently, Muse appeared on Italy's own Quelli che il Calcio, but it was demanded of them that they lip sync. They were unhappy with this, until they decided to switch instruments and put on a comical effort. Hilarious revenge. LOL

A couple of weirdie-beardies dressed as flowers ("A Flower?") on TisWas (This Is Saturday, Watch And Smile):

One of the above, minus beard and flower costume, plugging his solo album:

Kate Bush on same program:

Not Prog, but the gentleman involved once played bass guitar for Hawkwind, so here is a clip of him holding a rubber chicken:

There once existed a clip of Mike Oldfield getting involved in a custard pie fight, but sadly it's been deleted from YouTube. Other Proggy related guests included Paul McCartney, Mick Karn and Roger Taylor.

My favorite Kate era....thanks for that.

Love the way she's leaning away from the person, either a personal space intrusion or a case of the interviewer having camel breath? LOL  Or just coincidence?

Shocked you can't say that about Sally James ... she was the only reason I managed to get out of bed on a Saturday morning...

Here she is more relaxed, being interviewed by HRH Delia Smith (looking remarkably young herself):

this is a bit of fun from a few years later:
