I imagine you'll survive (and drink way too much beer to help you survive), but I expect you will be very glad when she returns.  Tell her safe travels from me.

Oh yeah, the gals at the bar across the street always know when my better half has left me for a spell.  It becomes my second home.  Good food there and some human contact as Raff and I go there all the time and have gotten to know the bartenders over the years.

Even if it is too weeks it still hits too close to the days before she moved here. Living on emails and IM services.

Thank you, Terri, I appreciate itSmile! Sorry not to be around a lot these days, but there are times when I feel I don't have a lot to say. Hope the trip will do me good!

I never noticed that having nothing to say stops anyone else from posting. Particularly me.

Have a great time, eat lots of good food and return refreshed. And spend time, lot of it, with your family.  Because you never know.  My sister lived in Ireland, and I was ready to rush over in February when she started doing worse, but everyone told me I had plenty of time.  I didn't - she died six days before the visit I had arranged for later this week.  So give everyone in your family that big hug I didn't get to share with mine.

carrots?  Ummmm.  Really..is there a more perfect vegetable?

I don't think there is. If Raff ever wanted me to go veggie all she would have to do is feed me carrots 24/7.

If not the for evil of the Spawn of Satan I would have gone vegetarian years ago.. yet she didn't agree with me wanting to go vegetarian (or my reasons) so she fed me canned mixed vegetables for 3 months until I gave in. Since my cooking abilities begin and end and being able to burn boiling water I had to eat what she put in front of me.  Jesus women can be so evil LOL

Roasted carrots are even more awesome, with all the sweetness brought to the forefront, set off by the slight charring....damn I want my kitchen back.

For sure--  do you like char-grilled corn on the cob?   My favorite way of eating it.

chargrilled corn on the cob is the BEST. Worth getting all the kernels stuck in your teeth for.
