Implants - From Chaos to Order
Psychedelic Suns - Colours (Early 70's Floyd released a new album two days ago ) Pendragon - The Masquerade Overture Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes (Some say the cover is awful but it's memorable... and so is the music ) Shylock - Gialorgues (Really nice album) Pristine - Reboot (This album goes in so many directions. The last track seems like Oasis featuring Adele ) Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother (CD. This remaster seems more focused on the orchestra than the vinyl (which is nice) but I love the tone of the Hammond on vinyl. On either version of the suite I feel the most intense goosebumps during the ending... probably not if I only listen to that part, but it's a perfect ending after such a magical journey I don't think I enjoyed "If" as much as this time, the combination of harmonic guitars, Hammond and piano is just perfect! I always thought "Fat Old Sun" was Waters' best bass work on the album but I recently discovered that Gilmour played everything except the keyboards ) |

Yesterday:
Equations - Hightower (thanks for the heads up Samuel. Wonderful new psych band that I genuinely can't get enough of. Reminds me of both Goat and Hedersleben. I gather it's becoming popular to follow in the footsteps of 1973 Amon Düül ll) Aluk Todolo - Voix Baron - Torpor Cluster - Sowiesoso Popol Vuh - Hosianna Matra Yes - Tales Fishmans - Long Season Neil Young w Crazy Horse - Psychedelic Pill (Just got this one and it has quite literally blown me away! Hadn't paid too much attention to Neil's most recent stuff - mostly because I am somewhat allergic to old men conjuring old music up - yet on here I have been well and truly surprised by the sheer umph of this geriatric's guitar playing.) |

Thanks man....and as I'm listening (right now in fact) I must applaud you for tuning into my tastes. Fits perfectly. I especially enjoy the icy ambiances of the synths. "Krautrock", in general, has become something of a popular sticker these days - although most of the time it's being used to bundle up bands that utilise a motorik drumming beat Goat, Hedersleben and Equations though all sound rather close to Amon Düül ll ca 1973 though....which is just fine and dandy by me |

^ I definitely didn't hear this, cool track! I'll have to give it a listen.
I did check Black Mountain thanks to your review, though. I'll see them next week

Wow...I am so jealous! I caught Black Mountain during their tour of 'In the Future' and they were absolutely smashing. It was during Roskilde Festival which in turn meant that they only had one hour to play in
BTW I've heard a little birdy talking about them going back to the psychedelic tendencies of 'In the Future', which is comforting to say the least. I bought Wilderness Heart when it first hit the street and was extremely disappointed with the new change in direction. If they're going back to acid though I'm definitely on board for the ride

Yeah, festivals can be disappointing because of that. It's the first time they'll play in my country and they'll come alone
The little bird wasn't wrong, I heard the new track and it's incredible

Oh my... I will have to get my hands on it asap then! Now that I think about it - the Roskilde gig was indeed also extremely short due to the kind of physical state I was in I remember it starting around 2 in the night after a loooooong day of booze, other gigs and stuff i don't care to list on PA Anyway that made the 1 hour show even faster. Just talked to a friend of mine who actually were the one who turned me onto the band. He, like me, is absolutely thrilled to hear this news. Just the fact that they seem to be heading back towards their psych days had him grinning over the phone. |

I think it's only out next month, but I hope they'll be selling it at the concert.
Don't need to tell me, I remember how I was at 2am during Electric Moon's concert at Reverence Valada... and I was only under influence of Psychedelic music We'll have to wait to see if the rest of the album is as good.
