I don't deserve to be on this forum for the little attention I've given Yes.
But seeing "Open Your Eyes" so low, I had a cursory listen on Spotify. Erm... the start of the chorus on the title track is basically the theme to "Charles In Charge" isn't it? I'll go and listen to "Close To The Edge" to take the edge off. And sorry if I've now ruined whatever goodwill you could muster for "Open Your Eyes"!

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

I was really only interested in Yes between The Yes Album and Going For The One. I've heard odd tracks from most of the others but never the whole album. So, ranking the ones that I have heard...... 1. The Yes Album 2. Close To The Edge 3. Going For The One 4. Fragile 5. Tales 6. Relayer

DESPITE SOON? How on earth could anyone object to one of the most beautiful pieces of music EVER? I mean, maybe you're not crazy about it, but "despite"? Please explain.

Easily. I find it the most boring non transcendent piece of music I've ever heard (after More Fool Me), and Jon Anderson's castratto voice doesn't help. Totally out of place in a such an elaborate and vibrant album. Tastes are not universal. Iván

^ Oh, I know about the tastes not being universal part, I just couldn't understand how the piece could arouse antipathy. I would have thought apathy at most.
Oh, well, thanks for the explanation.

Did you had a bad weekend? Did your wife beat you? Here we respect the taste of the other members, you don't need to be rude, I'm expressing my opinion in a free forum for which I done much more than you. If you don't agree with my taste, it's OK, but being rude is a game that two can play and I play it better than you....Be sure of that.

I may disagree with your assessment of Soon, but I don't think that's a reason to insult you. I just wanted to know why.
I didn't mean to start anything, honest.

I wasn't aware I had to follow certain rules when I am listing my own personal preferences. But considering your lack of appreciation for the brilliance of the Beatles, your pathetic opinion means absolutely nothing for you know nothing when it comes to music. 90125 was the first album I heard by the group when I was in high school and it holds a special place in my heart. Drama is an album I love because I was a heavy metal fan all through school. "Machine Messiah" has that really heavy sound I like and I love every single song on the album. Relayer has never been one of my favorites as the only song I really like is The Gates of Delirium. Tales is a bit meandering for me and even Rick Wakeman feels that way. Open Your Eyes is the only Yes album where I didn't like a single song which is why it ranks so low. Before you bash others opinions you could at least make your own list before posting your idiotic comments. |

[QUOTE=Wakeman's Birotron]10/10:
-Close to the Edge -Relayer 9,5/10: -Fragile -The Yes Album 8,5/10: -Going for the One -Time and a Word -Tormato (Am I the only one here who loves the sound of that birotron?) -Tales from Topograhpic Oceans You are not alone I´ve loved it since the day I first heard it, I think it was January 1979... Oh dear... you know the original UK edition ? I remember it vividly... those glory days of Tor landscapes and the positiveness of the music and my youth, in the middle of coldest Winter. It was so REFRESHMENT, recreation in fact LOL. Ah, "Tormato" from 1978 is one the VERY BEST they ever put on record. It´s absolutely true ! (said Rick Wakeman) Welcome to PA. you have got a cool moniker there
