Some dark chocolate that is under-sugared and under-salted, bitter, imbalanced, disappointing.   Shouldn't have gotten the 80%  -

Ah, you know real bagels;  slightly risen, boiled, properly baked for a dense chewy bagel.

Finally some good chocolate.   All these gourmet, artisan, single-source chocolates are getting a bit much.   When you pay $12 for a choc bar, you expect it to be well-balanced and creamy, not an international excursion to the exotic rainforests of Ecuador for the rarest cocoa beans on the planet sweetened only by fruit pectin.

Amedei Chocolate Bars - Cru Single Origin - 70% Cocoa - 1.75oz / 50g

^ When in NYC - I indulged in everything Godiva. Pricey, but nicey
Not eating just yet, but shortly, lunch will be : Asparagus Soup with sour-cream and tiny Alphabet pasta, Malaysian Chicken Curry with pan-fried Rice (when you brown the rice in a pan BEFORE adding the water) and a Boysenberry Ice-Cream Drumstick.

yes, and it was close enough that I enjoyed it thoroughly (without forgetting that it was an excellent imitation of the real thing).

Maybe it's the eating it in NYC part I miss, you known, when you can relax in the certainty that not only did you just have a great bagel, but there is also a great piece of pizza in your immediate future.

I know--  unfortunately I've cut way down on my carb intake, so pizza and bagels are the first to go  Ouch
