Not a weak spot in their entire discography I feel. Their dvd's have some troubling A&R + video quality issues, but other than that Arena have quality albums from start to finish.
If I may recommend. Live&Live ( amazing double live album from the contagion tour. Audio quality is unbelievable as well.)
Second. Immortal? I feel its a masterpiece. All the tracks are just amazing. Great flow to the album.
Lastly. The Cry EP. This is a rare gem, but you can hear Arena in a somewhat different way than expected.

Hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do. Arena are the kings of neo Prog for me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have Contagion Max so I'm sure I'll like the live version. I'll also check out the other two and gradually get into more of their many albums.

Berits Halsband – s/t – Sagi, Sam, Gary – ABSOLUTE HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! I bought this reissue of a rare Swedish instrumental album from 1975 a few weeks ago (it comes in a large and lavish hard cardboard book-like package), and it is a knockout beginning to end. Sounds like everything from Out of Focus, If, etc...a lively mix of jazz/fusion/rock with terrific jamming, quite rough around the edges, but the musicians are top-notch, with a bit of grit as well.
I'll give it a listen Thumbs Up

Monday:
Magma - Live
Handwrist - Çatalhöyük
Mike Oldfield - Incantations (I skipped the second half of part two. It's incredible how much easier it was to listen to the album this way)
Rush - Permanent Waves
Omega - Time Robber (That moment when you find a copy of an album you have on a record store and remember you barely spun it LOL)

^ I looked into Berits Halsband yesterday and the best deal I could find was 24 EUR with 15 EUR shipping.
I listened to the album and thought it was great but I'll have to shop around some more.

Gary, do you use Greg Walker's Syn-Phonic store for orders? I got it through him for $17 US. He had it listed on his September-December 2015 update newsletter, although I do notice he doesn't have it listed on his site under the `Sweden' page (although the site is notorious for not updating actual stock!).

You could perhaps email him and enquire if he actually does still have copies?

The album is great! I put it on my wish list Thumbs Up It will be a good companion to Hooffoot's debut (also Swedish) that I recently acquired. Do you know this one, Michael?

^^  Before I started buying vinyl I ordered CDs regularly from Greg. I'll contact him today and see what he has.

I hate to leave things undone so I found Berits Halsband on blue vinyl with the CD and booklet included.
I ordered it through the label (Musicbazz) for 27 EUR with 6.50 EUR shipping.
I think the price is very reasonable for that package.

Oh, sounds briliant, Gary, I hope you love it. Thinking of taking the plunge, Sam? AT least you get to avoid the US-ordering trouble you've been telling me about lately!

No, I haven't heard Hooffoot, I only recognise the name. The couple of reviews on the Archives make it sound very promising.

I have other priorities but I'll get it eventually. Smile I still don't know when I'll receive it

It's a fantastic vintage Jazz Rock album and it's the best sounding vinyl I have Thumbs Up You can hear it here.

Berits Halsband - s/t
Riverboat Gamblers - Underneath the Owl
Ornatos Violeta - Cão! (I only knew their successful (at least in my country) follow-up, but this one is probably better. It's a summary of the 90's: there's Britpop, Grunge, some RATM-like heavy funkiness along with Jazz, Ska and Reggae elements. It's a very cohesive record though.)
Marillion - Clutching at Straws
Petrus Castrus - Ascensão e Queda
The Whirlings - Beyond the Eyelids
Tales Of Murder And Dust - Hallucination Of Beauty
Renaissance - Turn of the Cards
Pink Floyd - More (I love the diversity of this album, it's clearly a soundtrack. We also get to hear Floyd's heaviest side... and Gilmour playing Flamenco Tongue)

More....I still can't work out which Floyd member is singing lead vocal on the opening track `Cirrus Minor'!

Pink Floyd – Obscured by Clouds
Renaissance – Academy of Music 1974 (Sam, I think either this or the other recent Renaissance archival live has been given a vinyl release?)
Tangerine Dream – Reims Cathedral, December 1974
Alpha Wave Movement – Harmonic Currents
Alpha Wave Movement – Archaic Frontiers
Steve Roach – Alive in the Vortex

Matthew Sweet – Altered Beast (One of my most precious albums, not prog, but indie rock/pop/country that still sounds amazing after 23 years...easily one of the best rock albums of the 90's, amazing harmonies as well)

and he DID drop a proggy 9 and a half minute four-part suite on a later retro/Sixties/Beach Boys-flavoured album! Man, if all pop music was this good.....Sam, especially give this one a spin, I hope you dig it!

I'll admit, I'm a bit biased, I do like a good harpsichord solo!

isn't it Gilmour? I've always thought it's him.
Or are Roger and David? Now I don't know either LOL

Doing a search through Google brings up several pages of back and forth `It's David, it's Roger' responses, so I'm glad our confusion is justified!

On the one hand it sounds more Gilmour than Roger, but then whole sections of it sound nothing like Dave!

At least we know one thing - it's not Rick!

I thought it was Roger but according to Wikipedia it's David. Confused

I didn't know that, but I'm still getting their studio albums (I got Turn of the Cards last week). By the way, did you listen to the same albums as yesterday? LOL

It's a cool track... oh, and I'm a harpsichord freak too Tongue It reminds me of Flying Colors.
