I have a few Embryo albums and always liked the bassists.........Bunka is no slouch on his 6 strings either (just not someone that comes immediately to my mind)

After seeing this man play live I'm inclined to agree. I especially love his solo on 'Drive home'.
I do think he can be a tad too busy at times.

Frith, Fripp and Belew are monster guitarists.
For feeling and melodies I love Latimer. That's probably my top 4.
Then many others... Hackett, Wolbrandt, Gilmour, Akkerman, Oldfield, someone mentioned David Toop, great choice...

Mike Oldfield doesn't get recognised enough for his ability on the guitar.

Phillips was also quoted in a Mojo magazine article about Genesis that the reason he left the band was because he wasn't good enough.

From what I hear of Phillips, he seems incredibly modest...

I believe you're the backwards fellow, because you are answering a 5 years old post.

So what. I'll call someone on an inane comment whenever the opportunity presents itself and no matter how old the post. Welcome to America, my clueless friend.
