Atoll - L'araignée Mal Mona Lisa - Avant Qu'il Ne Soit Trop Tard Quella Vecchia Locanda - Il Tempo Della Gioia Porcupine Tree - Signify (I didn't know the title track started as a Neu! cover. It's quite similar indeed.) Steven Wilson - 4 1/2 (This is not an EP but a decent lenghtened album and a really good one. Is it just me or the main tune of the first track reminds a lot of Mike and the Mechanics' "Over My Shoulder". I kind of expected that Wilson would start whistling :P) Causa Sui - Pewtr Sessions 1-2 Traffic - On The Road Astral Son - Silver Moon (Really good Space Rock album. It sounds like a mixture of Floyd's debut and Hawkwind's Doremi. I don't mind the vocals they have a Syd Barrett vibe.)

I don't think I know that particular tune, Sam, so I can't tell. I really like that album....I certainly dig all of it more than that `Hey brother...' track that ends `H.C.E'!
Last night's selections, a mostly very modern day:
Flower Kings – Banks of Eden Flower Kings – The Sum of No Evil Roine Stolt - Hydrophonia Anekdoten – Until all the Ghosts are Gone Mystery - The World is a Game Dream Theater – The Astonishing Tim Blake – New Jerusalem

You might have heard it on the radio:
I agree, it's such a weak closing track
Thanks, mate, I'll give it a play when I get home from work tonight.
Heh, that Wilson track, is that the one you were saying to me you disliked as much as `Trains'?! It's funny, I had `H.C.E' playing at work (and was surprisingly enjoying it more than usual), and when it hit that track at the end, I thought `Heh, I bet that's the one Sam was going on about...I totally get it' If so, I agree, it screams cigarette lighters being waved in the air!

I like "Trains", I think it's a better Pop song of his. Between that one, the title track and "Perfect Life", I don't know which one is worse. I was listening to "Home Invasion/Regret #9" this morning and wishing all the album was as good as this

My mistake, Sam, I remember now, it's `Lazarus' you don't like!
Hmmmm, haven't listened to that Atomic Trolls album for a few months (I was on a bit of a bender with it a few back, and I've still got in in the car). Man, there is this HARSH unpleasant saxophone screech for a few seconds in the final track, it's completely unbearable! Would you remember the South Park episode with the `brown note', that one musical note that makes everyone deficate?! Well, that's the closest I've come to hearing it on a prog album!

I was playing some PT tracks on the guitar the other day (I've been playing "Blackest Eyes" and "Wedding Nails" a lot lately, cool Metal tracks without shredding solos is literaly more my speed ) and heard that track again while improvising and it didn't seem so bad. It's probably the placement of the song on the album, after only two heavy tracks, it's too soon for a ballad
I wasn't on a "new music" mood so I don't remember that or anything from the album I only listened to well known albums after that.

Miss Lava - Red Supergiant Led Zeppelin - The "Call It Whatever You Want" Album Syndone - Odysséas (I still can't stop spinning this album ) The Doors - Waiting For The Sun Dream Theater - Images and Words (I decided to start again and stick with one DT album at a time. I tried to pay more attention to the instrumental and less to the vocals, but it's impossible. Besides, for a technical band, this album barely has any solos ) Jean Michel Jarre - The Essential Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun (Is it just me who thinks "Russia on Ice" would be a much better closing track?) Roxy Music - Stranded Quella Vecchia Locanda - s/t

DT has become a band I can't stand anymore, Images And Words is left the only album I like spinning every once in a while, great album really. I still remember when it came out I listened to one track on a metal program on the radio, man it was like nothing else, I just had to have that album. I tried a few albums since then but nothing grabbed me (except for Scenes of course) I haven't listened to anything post 2000 I think.

^ I find the vocals less tolerable on their early albums.
Today: Black Bombaim - Far Out The Doors - The Soft Parade Gentle Giant - Free Hand Neuronium - Heritage (Tangram's Spanish brother, even the epic is a strange collage :D)
