Il Tempio Delle Clessidre - Live in Genova 2009
Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same (DVD. And they say Prog is pompous I don't like how Plant and Page have much more screen time than the other band members.)

Thanks I'll definitely look into Fat Again:-)
Speaking of Zeuhl influences, then check out that VAK album. Pure Zeuhl to these ears but with a rough production to it that really suits it.
I really dig that Komara album. I haven't played it that much but when I do, I really enjoy it. It is certainly better than most other Crimsonian releases these days.

I've been listening to this constantly for the past few days and it's fantastic all the way through, every second of it, thanks for this priceless recommendation, I owe you one LOL)

Simon Steensland - A Farewell To Brains
Esperanto - Last Tango
Capitolo 6 Frutti Per Kagua
Finnegans Wake - 4th (One of the best albums this genre has to offer)
Spring - S/T
10cc - Sheet Music
Komara - S/T

SecondedClap
The big Mike from down-under is also the one who lead this horse to waterBig smile

Oh, really glad you guys dug it! It's always a bit of a risk putting up a fawning 5 star review on the Archives! But right from the first spin, I was so sure it was a stunner, and I've listened to it over a dozen times since and beginning to end it always remains mostly exceptional. I also suspected you would both love it, as I know you prefer a rougher take on RPI than the polished sound of many of the other new discs!

^ Great selection. If I would do an all-time favourite list now, the PFM and Quarteto 1111 ones would certainly be on the top 5 Approve
I saw Asia Minor mentioned a few times lately. How's their music?

Oh, and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of La Fabbrica Dell' Assoluto's album Big smile

Also today:
Supertramp - Paris
Steve Roach - Sigh of Ages

Oh yeah, Sam, I know how much you dig that Quarteto one!

`Sigh of Ages' is usually considered one of Roach's best!

Asia Minor are most known for their second album `Between Flesh and Divine', one of the absolute best prog albums of the 80's (and certainly one of few essential ones!)

It's been a long-time obsession for Nick as well!

Hey Michael - what's your thoughts on Starring Rosi ?? I say there's this real hippie, country-vibe to some of it. Very stoned, it's quite varied - I think it's an underrated album.......
(On a side - Magma in Adelaide............I'm thinking hard of making the gig..........)

I'm an open book Tongue I usually don't pay attention to lyrics, but they enhance the music so much, along with the historical context Smile

True, fantastic album Clap I'm listening to Robert Rich's Filaments now, so I'm in a good mood Wink

That sounds great, I'll give it a listen next Thumbs Up

Sam (Meltdowner)== yes. Asia Minor have it "nailed" down greatly with "between flesh and divine." Michael is absolutely right, whereby it really is the 1980 masterpiece of traditional 70's sounding Prog. In no way does the album sound like it came from the 80's, but then again that's why it probably didn't get as much recognition as it should have. :( chalk this album down as "underrated." I weep at the flute solos. Simply beautiful. ;)

Thursday to Sunday.

Genesis-- live over Europe (2007)
Genesis-- Invisible Touch ( I find it so wrong that "the Brazilian" can give me goosebumps. Lol)
While Heaven Wept-- Suspended at Aphelion ( Prog metal or not? That seems to be a question. )
IQ-- On the road of Bones: Live. ( ok. This is amazing. Maybe my favourite IQ live album and that is saying a lot. I know this album isn't cheap to buy, but I'm telling you guys it's 100% worth every overpaid dollar that you have to spend. )
Marathon-- S/T
Type O Negative-- A World Coming Down.
Tim Bowness-- Abandoned Dancehall Dreams
Leprous-- The Congregation
APP-- Live Span
IQ-- The Wake
Powerhouse-- In An Ambient Way
Riverside-- Love, Fear and the Time Machine. ( yes. I really do like this album. The musicality is off the charts. This is a very strong record. The less heavy approach works. ;)
Gothic rock (various artists by Rick Mercer (disc 2&3)
Goblin-- Rebirth ( I like this one a little more than 4 of a kind. )
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

I've got my tickets, I think they were $70? Sadly no other Aussie shows have been announced, so my mate Harry and I are making the drive there from Melbourne. Should be great, do think about it!

`Starring Rosi'....I only heard this for the first time recently. All my years of Record Fair attending and I'd never come across this (or many other Ash Ra Temepel-related albums), so when Manuel G did his Melbourne shows a few months back, I took advantage at the merchandise stand to buy up all the outstanding A.R.T albums I've never got. `Starring Rosi' sounds to me like a definitive summer album! The toasty hazy jammy chilled electric guitar, the stoned acoustic strums, the droning poetry - I think it's AMAZING! Kind of fits in nicely with albums like `Psychonaut' by Brainticket, the self-titled Magic Carpet album, `After Bathing at Baxters' by the Airplane....albums I always associate with summer! The fact that it's just over 30 minutes as well means its easy to race through over and over!

Amazing electronic album, Sam, the guy makes it sound so easy. He's not quite as `vague' as Roach prefers to be (and I don't mean that as a insult), but it's accessible and melodic without being overly obvious and lightweight. Easily top 5 electronic discs of 2015, for sure...it's part of the reason for holding up my post in the `Collabs top 20 of 2015' list, that darn placement of the electronic discs I've chosen!

Yep! That flute is insanely good, and there's not a wasted second on the whole disc. Prog perfection to our ears! I think their first album is also good, but not nearly AS good as this one.

Yes Michael - it's a bit of a gem...........can see it quite fitting for the times, whilst being somewhat forward-thinking. I don't have Join Inn or 7 Up, used to see the vinyl of Join Inn often at fairs but never bought it...........dumb and dumber me....................never seen 7 Up...................very pricey at Discogs...........

Ah your PE poll series. Sorry for missing out on that, Sam. Haven't been around here too much of late. Will see if I can get the chance to check it out in the coming days, to at least listen to the samples and read the comments, if not participating (to late to jump in on it now, I guess).

I only put Gir๓n's album on my list, it's still one of the electronic album of 2015 I listened to the most... despite not playing it enough times Tongue The other was Dallas Campbell's latest album, but it didn't seem like top 20 material.
