Tame Impala's music gets on my nerves, but for some reason I enjoy that Pond album. I don't find it as good as others do here, but I return to it often.
funny... I snuck a quick youtube listen to it earlier. Micky likes it, but I LOVE the earlier albums. Perhaps I'll grow to love it, but on first listen.. I'd grab the Beard, Wives and Denim album anytime. That is one FRICKIN FABULOUS album. More of a hippish vibe, that is like good dope which I totally dig man. That new album strikes mo more as a acid trip. Which is cool but sure as not hell not as mellow and laid back.
As far as Tame Impala. Love it too. Not to put you on the spot, but I love doing that I suppose. If you can put your finger on it, what gets on your nerves about them.
np here. Radiohead - OK Computer. Hey.. we still have to do our obligatory Hawkwind Sunday album. I'm not sure why...but playing one of their albums has become as much a part of Sundays here as Ian's show, and dreading the upcoming work week.

I'll have to listen to their earlier albums. About Tame Impala, I was never able to finish any of the albums I listened: it sounds too Pop, dreamy and sweet for my tastes (that reminds me of that conversation about Moon Safari the other day). I also don't like the cotton candy production. The new Pond also has that but in a smaller dose... although "Holding Out For You" is a skipable track in my opinion There's also a Portuguese band, Savanna, that sold out and started making TI-like music: they sure are getting more airplay and hysteric teenage girls in their concerts now
