More crusty sludge metal ran through Agrimonia's characteristic Swedish melodic death metal filter. What's interesting compared to a group like Nux Vomica who also play that kind of genre combination is that instead of contrasting the Swedeath with those other styles, both the fast punky sections and the slow doomy parts are adapted to that overall aesthetic. The singer consistently stays with one style of vocals too, resulting in a very seamless crossover between music styles usually not associated much with each other and a rather unique sound. Add to that some rather ambitious and involved song structures, and I can definitely understand why these folks have acquires a following.

U. S. Girls sound like a really fantastic alternate soundtrack to David Lynch's Mulholland Drive. That entire "retro 1960s girl group kitsch filtered through disturbing electronic noise" sound gives off the same vibe as that movie, not to mention the lesbian undertones of their aesthetic.
