Sam, I started listeing to that `Day Session' Riverside disc, and I think the whole disc is going to be more in that ambient/drone/Lunatic Soul style - it sounds AMAZING! Will report back how the rest of it goes.

^ I didn't know if it was worth paying 10€ more for a bonus CD, that's why I bought the single CD edition. My other mistake was not buying the "Memories In My Head" EP on vinyl, I didn't know what it was nor how rare it is (and cheap compared to the prices on Discogs).

Hmmm, I seem to think I've got `Memories in my Head' on CD (at least, I think that's the album I reviewed a year or two back, I'd have to check again! I didn't even know it was on vinyl.

So youve been making your way through your Maiden collection, eh? Do you have `Piece of Mind'? I think that (and the above mentioned `Powerslave', not to mention those first two albums are sooooooo much better than `Number of the Beast'! I cannot understand why it's considered their definitive classic album, when (to me) there's far more interesting albums on either side of it!

Actually, my mate messaged before saying he was studying while listeing to Maiden, which I thought was hilarious...and confusing!

I checked for you, it was "Voices In My Head" that you reviewed. The vinyl reissue is a self-release from last year.

I don't have "Piece of Mind", I'll have to buy it eventually to complete my vinyl box set. "Number of the Beast" is special to me, since it was the only one I had from them for a few years (I asked that one and Judas Priest's "British Steel" for Christmas... it was a heavy Christmas Cool). But I hear it more clearly on vinyl now, it sounds too clean and lacks power (especially the drums). I prefer Powerslave ever since I bought it.

I used to do that too, starting to study with a Maiden album when I started early in the morning (replace study with work and that's exactly what I did today Tongue).

OK, so clearly it's just me that would use electronic and ambient albums if I was studying. I often have it playing in the background, but certainly not Maiden!

Far enough about you reasons for liking `Beast', we all have out own personal favourites that may not be quite as good as other albums, but it's a highlight in our eyes! To me, I got `Beast' and `Piece of Mind' at the same time, and comparing them back to back, I found the later had more intricate instrumentation, a thicker production, better material, better EVERYTHING! But I've come to enjoy it more these days.

Hmmm, it's a nice quiet shift, might be due a new spin of La Coscienza di Zeno's latest! It's the gift that keeps on giving!

I needed to wake up in the morning, electronic music wouldn't help me focus. But during the night it was the opposite. Some of my studying playlists are on this thread somewhere Tongue

I just moved "Piece of Mind" higher on my mental wish list LOL

It sure is! Approve I listened to most of it, on my way home after the concert last week, it kept me awake... and the Jorge Palma album I sent you too. I hope the cover didn't scare you LOL
