My ride to and from work is quite short so, not really. I listen to some records uninhibitedly when I get home though Wink

Yesterday:
Radio Moscow - Magical Dirt (Great one Gary! Thumbs Up This one seems more fast paced than the other one.)
Eddie Harris - Exodus To Jazz
Spock's Beard - The Oblivion Particle
Uxu Kalhus - Extravagante
Psicomagia - s/t

^  You're right about Magical Dirt, it has a better overall sound than the other two I've heard.
What are your thoughts on Psicomagia? I haven't given it a second listen yet.

What's your thought on this one so far, Sam? I'm finding it a bit of a struggle to get through. The first two tracks are totally dominated by the vocals which I find draining, even though I think Ted Leonard is a powerful singer, and I don't think those opening two are even particularly memorable tunes. They bore me right from the start, and it kinds of bums me out for what comes later in the disc, and I don't find much on there that is as strong as the previous one with him.

Sigh...hopefuly just needs some more listens.

Yeah, I agree: I boringly looked at the progression of the album and I was only at the beginning of the second track, I thought I wouldn't be able to listen to the whole thing, but the rest was much better. I think it has a fun vibe similar to their first two albums but it's certainly not as good as the previous album.

Sam, I played that new Spock's again. The instrumental sections are top-notch, really fiery and energetic. But still, the tunes definitely aren't as memorable or catchy, without being bad by any means.

That second track with that awkward repeated passage that starts off `A minion of the citadel...' really makes me cringe, it's never good to try to squeeze wordy lines like that and sell them off as a `catchy chorus', and the final line of it doesn't even rhyme!

I think the album is at its best when it's blasting all those terrific instrumental bits. Hopefully I'll learn to enjoy it more fully soon.

Tonight's choices:

Spock’s Beard – The Oblivion Particle
Spock’s Beard – The Kindness of Strangers
Dave Kerzner – New World
Druckfarben – Second Sound
Riverside – Anno Domino High Definition
Riverside – Shrine of the New Generation Slaves
Ozric Tentacles – Technicians of the Sacred
Michael Bruckner – Sequenz und Konsequenz IV
Alpha Wave Movement – Celestial Chronicles
Ishq – In A Rainbow Air
