Don't write `The Single Factor' off without hearing it, Sam! The poorest stuff is at the beginning, but good stuff does emerg throughout it here and there. I can think of plenty of poorer albums in my collection!
`Moog Raga' is on the remastered CD, I actually find most of those editions contain pretty good extras! The Byrds take on Jefferson Airplane's `Triad' is especially good and it sounds completely different to their version.
Have to stop as you've spent too much on music this month?! I've NEVER had that dilemna, I simply spend more and hope everything else in my life magically comes together - like food, and bills!

And in the end, how they sound, and that I'm happy with it, is what's important, right?

Undertakers Circus - Ragnarock (Saw them live for the first time that night. Fun concert, but they played a bit too many Curtis Mayfield covers, and not enough stuff from "Ragnarock", for my taste. I didn't know when I bought the tickets that Jono EL Grande was playing a release concert for his new album the same night. If I'd known I'd probably go see him instead, but UC are an important band in Norwegian rock history, so I'm glad I got to see them live after all. Guys, that was actually my first spin of this debut, a week ago I only knew their follow up and although I always liked it I wasn't planning to go to the concert, after all it's been 40 years since that album was released. But boy am I glad I eventually went! The concert was simply phenomenal, except for one song (and a good one too) the band played only 70's material. The playing was really tight throughout including all sorts of complex arrangements and some wild fiery solos by the band's leader, I've never heard him like that man, wow! I'm telling you there is something about those 70's guitarists, they have some kind of genuine and true rocknroll spirit to their playing. You could also see these guys are really having fun playing together, always smiling although there were only about 200 people! WTF!! I also shook their hands when the concert was over and I went to pee Anyway a day later I got my self a good looking used copy of the debut, sounds like a terrific album after only one spin.

^ Good to know you had a blast! It's too bad not many people go to Prog concerts (Steven Wilson is the exception ). I also heard the first album the other day, it's quite special

It wasn't a very attentive listen so it didn't seemed straightforward to me. I guess I'll have to listen to the live performance then

Premiata Forneria Marconi – Stati di Immaginazione – Sagi, I FINALLY got a CD of this comeback PFM album you always spoke highly of! What can I say, glad to hear not only a massive return to form after their run of poppy/aor/rock albums, but good to hear a first-rate instrumental album in general! Is the `Dracula Rock Opera’ album any good? I do have the one after it, `AD 2010’, on vinyl, and although it’s overlong and a little repetitive in parts, it’s a very tasteful and instrumentally exciting in parts.

^ So you were able to fully listen to Trespass. How was it this time? That PFM album is awesome, I'll have to get it someday... but I'll have to buy the classic ones first

I know exaclty what you mean about `Trespass', it's that run in the middle where things get a little more `pleasant', yeah? I still love all of it, but it has the unfortunate curse of being not quite as good as the albums to come!
That Arti e Mestieri debut is a personal favourite of mine! Pretty much 5 star perfection for me!

I placed an Amazon order for a new batch of westerns on Bluray then randomly did a search for some prog titles, and I found they had 1 single little copy of that PFM album left in stock, so I jumped on it! (at thetime I tried to order it, Greg Walker's Syn-Phonic had sold out of it).
I wasn't actaully aware that it was fully instrumental, I simply remembered that Sagi always spoke very highly of it, and recently Jim also mentioned it. I love that it's grand and ambitious and has plenty of nods to their previous synohonic styles without sounding like they're remaking their past.
I picked up a ton of the classic era PFM albums on Ebay for pretty cheap a few years back, mostly around $7-9 each, if you use the site?
speaking of `classic' and `PFM', I'm very wary to investigate that recent PFM/classical hybrid album! Can't we leave that sort of thing to the New Trolls?!

Exactly! The first two tracks are great and also the last one, but the rest is just pleasant.
