I mean when there is so much going on at once in an album and you can pick out any instrument with great alacrity it's a thing of beauty. :)
You'll also notice that all Iron Maiden' albums have the same magnification in instrument separation as well cause mr. Shirley is at the helm. However, when you have sensitive analytical gear like headphones or IEM'a where you can hear even a bloody pin drop, this production value is truly magnified beautifully. :)
Great audio gear is a worthy investment.
I sure could use an update in the audio gear department, just can't make it a priority, at least not right now. Too many albums (and also concert tickets, seeing GY!BE in November Big smile) to get my hands on, you know how it is, don't you, Nick? Wink

LOL I highly doubt so, but you never know, funnier things have happened, like me getting into Ulver for instance, never thought that would be a band I'd be too fond of.

Anyway, last week or so for me:

Animals as Leaders - The Joy of Motion
Sannhet - Revisionist
Kayo Dot - Coffins on Io
Biosphere / Deathprod - Stator
Sunn O))) & Ulver - Terrestrials
Ulver with Tromsø Chamber Orchestra - Messe I.X - VI.X
Ulver - The Norwegian National Opera (As mentioned, I finally discovered the beauty that is Ulver's music, and this was the album (well, to be precise it was the accompanying DVD) that changed my feelings about them, from being a band I enjoyed but didn't really get, to a band I simply can't get enough of. Amazing live performance!)
Ulver - Wars of the Roses
Ulver - Shadows of the Sun
Ulver - Blood Inside
Ulver - A Quick Fix of Melancholy EP
Ulver - Teachings in Silence
Ulver - Perdition City
Ulver - Kveldssanger
Not a Good Sign - s/t
Elephant9 with Reine Fiske - Silver Mountain
Junipher Greene - Friendship (Well, Sagi, it is actually a kind of important album historically for Norwegian rock fans, well, for me at least, as it was the first Norwegian double album. It should also be something I'd enjoy as I am into 70's heavy prog a bit, although I'm not very familiar with it, I must admit. Still not overly enthused by this album, but I think it's fair to say I enjoyed it slightly more this time around, and I imagine it will grow on me more with further listens. Childish lyrics, you guys say? Hmm...didn't pay them too much attention, so I can't comment. Like you, Sam, lyrics are something I can easily ignore, and as I'm not overly fond of the vocals here either, it gets even easier. LOL)
Jethro Tull - This Was
Jethro Tull - Stand Up
Jethro Tull - Benefit
Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Jethro Tull - Living in the Past
Jethro Tull - A Passion Play
Jethro Tull - War Child
Jethro Tull - Minstrel in the Gallery
Jethro Tull - Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die!
Jethro Tull - Songs from the Wood
Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses
Jethro Tull - Live: Bursting Out
Jethro Tull - Live at Madison Square Garden 1978
Jethro Tull - Stormwatch

It's both a blessing and a curse: sometimes I want to pay attention to the lyrics but I get distracted easily Tongue

I thought it was excellent with great compositions, intense vocals and clean but hot guitar solos.
By the third song I placed an order for the CD.
I plan on listening to some earlier albums today. I'll probably start with The Visitor since I read some
good things about it.

^ I totally agree. It's one of my favourites of 2015 so far.
Yes, The Visitor is excellent but I don't think they have a weak album, and they are all unique in some way.

^ They have several albums to sort through, and I will.
I'm listening to Dialeto because your post of the cover caught my eye.
I really like what I've heard so far.

^ By the way, if you're going to check out Contagion, listen to Contagion Max instead. It's the enhanced version: the extra tracks are great and the concept is easier to understand.
That album is quite good, it's a bit long though. I still have to listen to their previous one, Sagi said it's better.

^ Thanks for the tip, I'll do that.
BTW, Dialeto is great and I found the CD on Amazon (new) for $5.00 plus shipping. Thumbs Up

One day, Audun...one day. the audio bug will infect you wonderfully because you absolutely love music and make it a priority in your life. Anyhow, keep buying albums because one day you'll have to re listen to them all cause you'll hear things you've never heard before once you upgrade considerably. Also, I would be more than happy to help out once your ready.
Oh and that is a lot of Jethro Tull!!! I almost have you beat with my Black Sabbath craze this past week and today.

Black sabbath-- S/T, paranoid, master of reality, VOL.4, sabbath bloody sabbath, sabotage, technical ecstasy, sabbath live (past lives 1973 to 1978), live evil, heaven and hell, mob rules, reunion and 13.

And....

Pink Floyd--- wish you were here. (Honoring its 40 yr history)
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Yup.

And everything my good buddy Sam says, it's all correct in my opinion.
It's an incredible album. .
Glad to hear you'll buy the cd. The artwork is amazing. So much detail in that unquiet blood reddened sky. ;)

The first album is quite different than the second which I've listened to maybe twice. It's not as fusiony as The Last Tribe, actually it's not fusion at all. It's a little rough around the edges with more actual songs and some heavy accented vocals, but I sure do like this album a lot and for now I definitely prefer it over the second.

A lazy alphabet method of selecting tonight’s titles!

Ashra – New Age of Earth
Bodkin – s/t
Credo – Against Reason (a great Neo album)
Druckfarben – Second Sound
Epidaurus – Earthly Paradise
Frumpy – Frumpy 2
Greenslade – Bedside Manners are Extra
Hoelderlin – s/t
Izz – Crush of Night
Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygene
Krokodil – An Invisible World Revealed
La Coscienza di Zeno – La Notte Anche di Giorno (Yes, I know that should really be under `C’!)

^ I keep a lot of album/band alphabetical lists on my computer and I don't always
place La, El and Il correctly. Smile

^^ Will Exist Forever does have darker vocals (almost chanting at times) and I hear a Mid Eastern
sound in the songs which I like. The second listen was better than the first.

^^^ I liked Mutantes (Os Mutantes?) and will give it another listen today.
