What upset you today? - Progressive Rock Music Forum

Reading PE forum topic as you suggested and so far not seen nor read if they are classified as prog or not here: http://www.progressiveears.org/forum/showthread.php/14467-Iron-Maiden-The-Book-of-Souls/page3

Page 4 on PE it's starting to mention proggy feelings by some and I quote: Yeah, AMOLAD is my favourite of the Maiden 2K releases as well. Played the whole thing at work the other day and was reminded what a strong closer "The Legacy" is. But I gotta say, The Book Of Souls is giving it a run for its money right now! Really digging it.

This does not mean I agree with it but yes here they start to mention prog vibes.

Alice Cooper is prog to me (more so compared to IM) and he is not here on PA, I am ok with that too.

Great thing about Alice Cooper is that he always had two great lead Guitarists on one track :) xxx

the song title is a bit disturbing but it is certainly prog in every possible musical and constructive sense.

Can anyone pls answer my question properly?

I give p and will open a thread on PE now, will keep you posted btw.

There really is no reason for another thread about Iron Maiden's placement on the site (especially since they aren't even in a prog genre like stated in OP), so any other specific discussion about them can be done via other threads. Thread locked.

Iron Maiden is not considered prog on PA....but they are considered instrumental in the making of prog metal....which is why they're here under Prog Related.

David Bowie is in Prog Related too, and he is not considered prog either. He may have done a couple of prog tunes but never a full album.

David Bowie is beyond prog btw he is a one off and the hottest man alive, I love Bowie too much, also not worried if he is compared to any prog artist in this PA history because he is not to be compared no one can compare to him really, he is unique, I love him

Ermmm first 7 albums of him atleast I adore after, later released albums I am not particularly a fan of

Why don't we just include all rock bands in PA as prog related (progressive rock is related to rock, is it not?) and end these endless prog related/not prog related discussions. It's a damn silly genre anyway and I would love to know what the person was smoking when he/she thought it up.

Btw, that's what upset me today.
