Thanks MD, I'm glad you liked them.

Ticket are an interesting NZ band that had their 1st album re-released a few years ago here in Australia on Aztec Records, I only got around to ordering it in recently (suggesting Aztec are good in keeping a backstock of their releases). The re-issue is a thing of beauty and replete with bonus tracks and really interesting info about the band and their life and times - it's a good listen though maybe not overtly/consistently "proggy" (the heavy guitar-based sound of last night's tracks is pretty typical). The band like so many others is long defunct of course.

Based on their Facebook page, Over Unity seem to be on ice at present which is a shame - the EP suggests they could have come up with some pretty interesting music if the band had kept going.

Somehow or other Seasons of Change has reached the milestone of it's 200th program - but there's no birthday cake tonight at 8pm, just a good selection of mainly classic tracks including great music from past and present Australian bands and performers such as Ben Craven, Healing Force, Sebastian Hardie, Tamam Shud, Tully and Adelaide's own Unitopia. And with the Glendi Greek Festival on this weekend, there's also selections from Aphrodite's Child as well as the Greek god of keyboards, Vangelis.

Yes, it's a great track isn't it. While preparing this program I was tossing up between AHM, Shine On and Echoes (my 3 favourite Floyd tracks) - the live version of "Shine On" was on last week's program so much as I love it I ruled that out; then, after I listened through AHM again to help me decide, I felt it deserved a place in the 200th program. Echoes will get airtime at some point in the future too but it's been played lots of times on SoC, AHM just once before now.

With a weather forecast predicting very hot weather for Adelaide and the state of South Australia this weekend, tonight there is predominantly cool, if not mellow, music on offer instead on Seasons Of Change, including classic music from Australian groups Blackfeather and Rainbow Theatre, and from kiwi psych band Ticket. And with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra repeating their successful "ASO Plays Led Zeppelin" concerts this weekend, we revisit the fondly remembered "ASO Plays Pink Floyd" concerts from 2006.

Genesis    The Return of the Giant Hogweed (1971) (Nursery Cryme)
Steve Hackett    Unquiet slumbers for the sleepers + In that quiet earth (2012) (Genesis Revisited II)
The Orb and David Gilmour    Metallic side: Metallic Spheres/Hymns to the sun/Black Graham (2010) (Metallic Spheres)
10pm
Rainbow Theatre    Fantasy of horses (1973) (Fantasy Of Horses) there is an interesting interview with Julian Browning here
