I have recently gotten around to listening Neurosis for the first time in years, they're not a band I'm in the mood for very often even though I quite like their music. Anyway, I think this is the album that most "sums up" what the group is all about: There's both the heavy trudging "sludge metal made transcendental" stuff they became famous for, and the weird folky psychedelic experimentation they would go on to afterwards combined. I actually think I can take the latter more on this record, since it's balanced what I'm here for in the first place.

I'm starting to think these guys do Neurosis' folky psychedelic side wayyy better than Neurosis themselves, though the comparison is not that apt since Inter Arma have a lot of black metal influence in the higher screamed vocals and their faster riffs.

NPR
Interview with a lifelong pro violinist who no longer could wear a hot tuxedo onstage and decided to create a more athletic-oriented shirt that breathes and moves but still looks sharp. Getting a lot of interest from other orchestral musicians.
