thank you Matt and definitely thank you too Austin.
sounds like I'll be postponing my listen to it, maybe pass by Yanqui &     Slow Riot first since I don't think I've ever listened to those either
I still listen to Lift & F#A# quite regularly

So I listened to Rain Parade's Explosions In The Glass Palace earlier, and what always strikes me about the last track, "No Easy Way Out", is that, in spite of being a Paisley track from 1984, it uses some '70's style keys. I always wonder why.

Yo Austin, after a few listens I can say Currents is pretty tight. I'm not as into the production as I am with the first two but It doesn't detract from the album, and I like the bits of funk and danceable beats that slip in pretty frequently. In regards to songwriting I do think it was the least consistent album yet, with a few boring tracks (Yes, I'm Changing; Love/Paranoia) and pretty much the only Tame Impala track I can honestly say I dislike (Past Life), but the rest of it pretty much stands up with the rest of their great catalog. What did you think, assuming you listened?

Also, yeah, new GY!BE is, from my one listen, is aite. Doesn't live up to their earlier stuff or their first "comeback" record, for that matter. First track is the best track rest of it is cool but not exactly all that exciting or memorable.

I wanted to check that album out because i liked the cover and u put it on after a Smiths record so i figured it had to be similarish..

And Andrew i really need to sit down and give Current a better listen. I played it while playing a videogame so i kind of flew by LOL

I didn't hear any i disliked though. I liked the production of some of the songs a lot like "Let it Happen". I do like the change of pace into more poppy territory, though they were never far from it in the first place imo.

And yea the new GY!BE is a let down overall. Not bad, i don;t think theyre capable of making a bad album, just kind of weak. Though i'll keep saying that Light Inside of Light is one of the best GY!BE tracks ever. LOVEEEE the riff. Wish the record stuck with that style of a weird post-metal sludge feeling.
