It was spelled focks in the original LP lyrics, so it must have been a private joke of sorts.

That’s how I’ve always heard it.  It does sound like he makes a point of saying shave.

From ELP's "Bitches Crystal"

Having only heard it on radio for years after it came out, and never hearing the song title, my brain somehow translated to make sense to my ears the words "Eminence Front" as "Livin' in a rut". Which, after finding out the real words and learning the meaning of the song, wasn't terribly off base.

Well Yes lyrics tend to not make much sense a lot of the time, so that to me fits nicely.

Maybe not misheard but a buddy of mine would always make parody of lyrics, and for the Rush song The Weapon, he would sing the chorus as, "He's a little bit afraid of dyin', but he's a lot more afraid of your pet lion." We also had a running joke debate if The Enemy Within lyrics were, "experience two extremes," or "experience to extremes."
