FINALLY!!!
I've been waiting 5 years for this, so reading about an upcoming album in September really made my year. Dungen is one of my favourite modern rock bands. Take a trip to the beach on a warm Scandinavian summerday with a couple of friends and brewskies and you're almost as close as you can get to the unique sound that propels this band forth.
It is also one of the few bands around that genuinely can play like they did back in 1970....convincingly no less. It's about feel with these cats.

Pitchfork has just made a page about this, if you're interested in finding out more about 'Allas Sak'. You additionally get a sneak preview of the album. I am personally trying not to listen to it (damn it's toughLOL). I want to be surprised come September.

WHOOT!!! Clap Clap Clap  Hopefully they come back to the states to support the album... I'm still shooting myself in the head for missing them previously. Angry

10-12 Chicago, IL - Schubas
10-14 Boston, MA - Great Scott *
10-15 Brooklyn, NY - Baby’s All Right *
10-16 Philadelphia, PA - Boot & Saddle *
10-17 Washington, DC - DC 9 *
10-20 Seattle, WA - Barboza
10-21 Portland, OR - Bunk Bar
10-23 San Francisco, CA - The Chapel
10-25 Los Angeles, CA - The Echo

Oh yeah they're visiting! Get your ass in gear boyo - their gigs are quite simply out of this world! I've never caught a bad performance from them...hell I remember seeing them play Copenhagen the day after playing Amsterdam, and they looked like death. Reine looked like he's seen a ghost or maybe OD'd......and still they played their hearts out. Might even be the best gig of theirs I've seen.

My oh my, how Dungen does fly under the radar of most folks.
Too psych to be straight, too straight to be stoner, too stoner to be Prog, too Prog to be alternative, too alternative to be Space.......... man, how these guys impress............. A new album from them is about as exciting as a new Anglagard................

awesome... Clap  let me add one thing before using that as my new sig..  as much as I love the psyche and early 70's vibe and sound David so aptly noted.. the thing that sealed the deal with them for me.. is their folk aspect.

so here we are...

Too psych to be folk, too folk to be stoner, too stoner to be Prog, too Prog to be alternative, too alternative to be psych..........

and that is why some of us LOVE the group with great passion. I had no idea a new album was even in the works... I had sort of thought we might have seen the last of them.  A new album was really great news. Clap

^ Sweet !!!
Y'know, I can't really classify them (not that it is a big deal TBH), but these guys are just superb.
I don't have all their albums, but the few I do have are just bliss, especially '4'. Oh how I wish they'd reach a wider audience..........(but again, this is OUR secret, and the way things are is just precious).

Whoa! Great news! I only have one of their albums, "Tio bitar", but I love that one, so I'm really excited about this.

Also, seems like Reine Fiske has had quite a busy year, with the two new albums he recorded with Elephant9 being released in the fall as well. Cool

The band called The Amazing are quite close to what we get with Dungen. Of course, seems ANYTHING Fiske touches turns out to be something special.
I, too, thought that Skit I Allt was their final album. With a running time of a mere 35 minutes (34 minutes something, actually), there's no filler to be found.
And for those who can be bothered, it's worth checking out their live performances on YouTube, they are brutal in this context, definitely on fire, compared to the studio albums. It'd be great to have a live album from them.....
