I saw a couple of those stage sets back in the seventies.
There really was no other concert setting like them.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Roger Dean with his brother Martyn getting some credit as well.  The Yes artwork and the stage designs it inspired from '73 to '76 were the pinnacle of what made prog so special.

Who is the sixth member of Yes?  It is not widely known, but I am.

All of those thundering bass lines?  Not Squire, but me, all along.  Fooled you!!  LOL

Heh!!  That's Steve Howe's signature above the name "Manson" on my tee-shirt!  Hugh Manson is Steve's luthier and guitar tech, and he got me backstage at the 35th Yes Anniversary show in Chicago in 2004.  Life-changing for sure!!

Nah, I couldn't carry Squire's cape!!  I play much of his stuff, but he's the Master.  We wish him well.

Eddy Offord or Roger Dean for sure!

"is" being the operative word, means we can choose anyone absent from the current lineup.

Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman - anyone care to leave out two of those guys?

(or, for those who disagree with that, how about Alan White as the sixth?)

I suppose Billy Sherwood is literally the sixth member of Yes, as Squire has not technically left.

There are instances where Yes has had seven and eight members.

Some stoned guy from the Rolling Stones was the official sixth member of Yes, followed by Neil and Bob with Dick.

Seriously, though, it has to be Alan White (with the wonderful suggestion of Roger Dean entertained). White was given the nod shortly after Bruford left (right?) and was charged with learning the group's catalog in a brief amount of time before a pending tour, to various degrees of criticism. Has been a stalwart member of the band ever since with some very technical demonstrations of prowess along the way (his drumming on Yesshows' The Gates of Delirium is simply awesome). All the while being a perfect gentleman. He can't be overlooked in this thread.
