How about an A&R rep for a record label?

Probably. Some record labels are starting to accept demos again though. :D

You posted "i saw the film yesterday" and then "Age of Ultron was amazing" which should have been the other way around shouldn't it have? Or did you mean "I saw a film yesterday" (non-specific) and then were specifying with "Age of Ultron was amazing"? It doesn't bother me or anything. I'm just curious.

No, I just don't see what you pointed out as anything bad unless done without the band's permission. If the label releases a demo with the band's permission that doesn't need to be rerecorded, why rerecord it? And, of course, labels have to support their bands and themselves so they need the money. If the release isn't good enough, the label won't spend the money on the promotion it takes to release the thing. Anyway, w e're not talking huge bureaucratic labels. When I mentioned labels taking demos again, I was talking specifically about Sub Pop and Jagjaguwar, who are indie labels who don't have a history of lawsuits or shady practices, not Cash Money, the exact opposite.
