It's a complete nonsense, Oldfield had been working on Tubular Bells for years before Vander came up with this. Oldfield was in the studio recording the already completed work. Vander has no grounds for his ridiculous claims.

E-Re is the most powerful thing since The Hulk. Stupendous album ; parts 2 & 3 are beyond words, they really live up to their name here, just like an epic lava-flow rolling on and on, clearing everything in its path. Unbelievable. I'd rate this one 6 out of 5.

Good to know. I still don't have it and Felicité too. But I'll wait a little more. I can't imagine a future with no new Magma or Zappa to discover.

It's very strange! But I love modern MAGMA more than the traditional 70-ies. Perhaps this is because modern technology has added to this group many opportunities. In the music of MAGMA has a lot of moments that need to sound quality. And that now they have!

The second album 1001° centigrades has the better sound of their career. Just my opinion.

I do feel some of their some of their 70s studio albums weren't able to capture the full sound of Magma properly, I always got more fulfillment out of MDK live renditions than in studio, I also think K.A and Ëmëhntëhtt-Ré were brilliant feats in studio production, K.A has gotta have one of the best drum sounds I ever heard on an album....

I'm thinking the same. Magma did some awesome things in the past, but this one (almost) wipes the floor of those. I just can't get my head around how tight and intense E-Re is. Bussonnet's Bass just kills, and Vander's drums are impeccable. The guitar work of McGaw is sublime. And the choirs/chanting are just perfect - there are times on previous works, where I find the choirs can be a bit grating, but here they are absolutely flawless.
I did get the CD/DVD package when it was first released, enjoyed it immensely, but since I bought the 2LP release, this is getting spun non-stop. And the cover in 12x12 is great.
